This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Nice looking fire jeep.
“1948 Willys Fire Truck for sale. Excellent running and aesthetic condition. Very low mileage. This jeep was bought brand new by the village of St-Esprit (Québec, Canada). Only one owner after the fire department.”

(10/14/2015) It has updated engine and brakes.
“Great 4 wheel drive 1946 Willys Jeep! Has a V-8 engine (from a 1960s Chevy van I think) and power steering. It is a 3-speed, plus a low range and an overdrive, so you’ll have lots of gear choices! It has been a wonderful family fun vehicle for years, but we now rarely use it since our kids are older. It has brand new tires, and it is in good mechanical condition. Floorboards are solid.
Includes a dual axle trailer for towing the Jeep, with trailer brakes (I’ve never used the trailer brakes, so I cannot vouch for them).”

UPDATE ***: Jurgen spotted this one. The ad for this jeep has resurfaced, this time in Ireland. Note the text claims the body panels has their “rivets” removed using a special tool. UPDATE II: A Craigslister reported that the seller is away and keeps raising the price as emails are exchanged. “Guy claims he is govt working but keeps asking for more and more info if you respond to his add…beware”
UPDATE: This jeep was on eBay a couple days ago. The seller listed it in College Station, Texas. The same jeep just popped up on a West Virginia Craigslist for only $4000. The text in the ad is similar to the text shown down below.

“1946 Willys VEC (Very Early Civilian) CJ-2A Jeep – Museum Quality Restoration
Offered is a 1946 CJ-2A that has undergone a frame-off, nut and bolt, rotisserie restoration. This is a very early civilian version, identified by square windshield plates, column shift, tool indents, ‘F’ script bolts in drive train, frame tag on the outside of the driver front gusset and three data plates on the dash.
I acquired this Willys Jeep CJ-2A from a Kingman, Kansas flying service in 2008 where it was being used as an airport tug. Everything was original, uncut, matching numbers and well preserved in several coats of orange paint. The frame tag, dash data plate and the Willys body tag are each numbered 17968 and correctly located. The motor number is CJ-2A 18464. The AMC numbers on the tailgate and front gusset are matching and both read 8620. Continue reading

This militarized civilian jeep looks solid.

“Late 1940s Willys cj2a flathead skidder. Runs great. Goes anywhere. Hydraulic blade to stack logs and move brush. Needs brake work. I used it for hobby logging. Hate to see it sit. Cage is bolted on. Marine battery. Racecar switches. Electric fuel pump. Could be removed to make a Jeep project. Lots of options. Best serious offer. Also has set of forks for it. ”
