Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. For some reason the seller is listing this as a 1947 CJ-2A. Maybe it has a repro body?

“I am selling my CJ2 A project Jeep. This Jeep came from California and is all original. I tore it down and started restoration. It has a Buick 212 V6 that was installed at a dealer in ’62. I had the engine professionally rebuilt from crank to carb. This engine is bored out to a 223 with all new parts. I have put new leaf springs, brake lines, and painted the frame. I have everything to put it back together but the time. I have a spare front axle. This jeep has the original exterior screen for the radiator and the original winch. Tub is totally rust free including the tool box under the passenger seat.”

“1945/46 Cj2A Jeep Willys, was a California car for most of its life and has very little surface rust. Reliable enough to drive everyday if you wanted to, starts and runs every time. Needs TLC as expected from an old vehicle. Fun to drive and a great project for anyone with a little mechanical know how. I would love to keep it but its time for the next project.
