About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(10/13/2017) Rick spotted this one. Look like there could be value here.
“1949 Jeep Willy, rough shape, body rusty, original motor but it does turn over, tires still hold air, tow bar on front bumper, nothing is froze up, have windshield, there is no title, but do have bill of sale and papers dating back to the 90’s.”
Includes a Warn OD. Front shackles reversed. Sounds like it needs an engine rebuild.
“Rebuilt trans, transfercase and Warn overdrive. Runs good but overheated it and smokes when it gets warmed up. Original eng.
2-1/2 inch springs with greasable shackles. reverse shackle kit installed for smoother ride. Asking 4,000. Make an offer.”
“Engine fires right up and runs good. I bought a new Walcks 4WD wiring harness and wired the engine, battery, voltmeter, ignition and starter, but all the rest of the new wiring needs to be hooked up. It has been converted to a 12 volt system and a spin on oil filter. It comes with a roll bar, trailer hitch, tow bar, Bestop soft top, new turn signal switch and additional new wiring. Also included is a spare Tranny and Transfer case, plus a set of decent front fenders. I’ve invested over $5K.
I have too many home projects pending to spend any more time on this little jeep. I need to move on. It needs a garage for the winter and someone needing a project.”
“I’m selling my baby! This is a really nice vintage jeep that I rebuilt ground up with my Dad who is a well known roll cage and custom bumper builder. The jeep is fully functional and starts right up… great gas milage, good power for its weight and the low 5:38 gears will crawl up dam near anything! I’ve taken this jeep up Hacket Rock (Hacket Gultch) with no problem.
With a little cosmetic work, this jeep could be one of the nicest vintage jeeps around.
Heres a little more about the jeep:
– Clear title.
– Leafspring over conversion giving it added lift and flex.
– 1 inch body lift.
– Fully boxed in frame.
– Custom and nicely shaped roll cage.
– Custom front and back bumpers.
– Body floor replaced.
– Winch roll cage.
– Early 70’s Chevy Nova 4 cyl engine.
– Power steering.
– High gear, low gear, 2WD, 4WD shift options.
– Custom aluminum firewall.
– Custom center console.
– 1/4 inch real rubber liner throughout the interior floor.
– 33×9.50 tires with some good life left in them.
– Top in good shape but cracked plastic windows.
– Body is in good shape but showing some bondo cracks.
– Little to no rust.”
Looks in good shape. It is listed as a 2A, but may be a 3A.
“1949 willys C J 2 A
All original flat head engine
All gauges and electrical work as should
4×4 all works as should
All new front inner/ outer bearings
With new brakes.
Front trailer ball makes spotting trailers easy.
I have owned this jeep for 15 years. It’s been a lot of fun gets a lot of attention. Very easy to maintain. parts are still very accessible through JC Whitney.
This is a very nice example of a 70 year old 4 wheel drive willys.”
Looks like a good price. Has some updates. Listed as a 1949, but it has a 2A body. Mostly likely a ’48 2A.

Seller is in Woodstock, IL, but the jeep is located in Cedarburg, WI.
“It’s a project. Engine is disassembled with what looks like fresh machine work done. Engine is bored +.30, new pistons, crank is turned as well. From what I can see the engine is all there. Comes with three wood boxes of parts; seats, tops, mechanical parts, looks like the whole jeep and more. Year is unknown although probably ’47-53. No title. Lots of amateur body repair. Many good parts. Will not split this up; all or nothing. Vehicle is currently in Cedarburg WI,”
I’m not sure why this has M-38 data plates on the dash.
“Good body with minor rust in rt front floor
11 inch brakes front and rear with “LINE LOCK” system.
Good seats
Bikini top.
Jeep 225 Dauntless V6 that needs repair.
Additional Buick 225 V6 unknown condition.

(08/30/2017) This runs, but could use some cleanup.
“Jeep has a V6 Buick motor, 3 speed with overdrive. Has manual drum brakes. New plastic gas tank. Power steering. New electric winch. Fiber glass fenders & hood. New wiring 90% complete. Vehicle runs”
