Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It’s a project.
“1951 cj3a tittled as a 2a for som reason. Its a project. Has a 289 v8. Runs and drives. New edelbrock carb and a summit billet h.e.i distributor, advanced adapters chrome fenderwell headers. It has a rebuilt front axle out of a 77 cj so i could put disc brakes on it. New bearings rotors, calipers and seals. Poly gas tank and i have an aluminum fuel cell to go with it. Electronic fuel pump. Put a master cylinder and power booster from a 99 cheroke and a hydraulic clutch from a jeep wrangler. Has a fibre glass front clip. Needs more body work, brakes hooked up and some wiring, seats bolted in. Have seats for it but didnt like them. Theyll go with it. Just lost interest in it. Asking 2500 obo.”

(12/11/2016) Has a fiberglass body.
“1951 Jeep Willys for sale with a rebuilt engine and new clutch.
Fiberglass body with new ragtop.
Brand new tires.
Runs and drives great.
It doesn’t have a lot of top speed because of the low gear ratio.
These jeeps were geared very low for the military. Top speed is probably about 50 mph.

“Hi cl. I’m selling my jeep project. It is a 1951 cj3a. It has a 1967 Chevy 350. It was just rebuilt by a reputable local shop. It’s bored .060 over new Pistons, rings, cam, lifters, gaskets, the heads were rebuilt and it has a 4 barrel edelbrock manifold. It cost me 1500 just in the rebuild. The jeep tub is in decent shape just surface rust. I am in the middle of building a new frame for it out of 2×4 box steel. I was going to use a set of j10 axles I have that are 65″ wms Dana 44’s I have a nice set of rims and matching 38″ swamped to go with it. I have pretty much everything to complete it on the new chassis but out of time and money. My wife totaled her car and I need to sell asap. Call or text for more info”

“Rare 1949 Willys Jeep Military. Solid jeep runs needs some minor work. Body is solid with limited rust. Great restoration project or hunting jeep. Has a tow bar and New tires. 170 hp motor and has been converted to 12 volt.”

Doesn’t run at the moment.
“1953 Willy’s Jeep CJ 3b it has a 4-cylinder engine that looks it could run with a new battery and plug wires. The tub has a small amount of rust. There is a small amount of body damage from an accident that bent the frame and broke the steering linkage. The Jeep is currently on non-op and the title is clean.”
