About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“I bought this jeep thinking I could handle the resto but its just too much for me. It has all of the original parts on it. Engine cranks over, just needs a new starter and alternator and battery and should fire right up. If you want more pictures just text me and I can get them to you”
“This Willys is in great. Original wheels, tires, seats, body. The engine was swapped for a Ford Maverick inline 6 and had the brakes and steering upgraded. Which makes for a much better ride than the original flathead 4. This would be a great start for a full restoration or you might just be looking for a fun hobby and sunday cruiser. Either way it runs and drives beautifully.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $2000. Jeff notes he is open to offers.
This has been disassembled.
“I want to sell this Willys with some rare options to help finance another project. It was purchased new in 1950 with the Monroe 3 point hitch and rare front bumper weight installed. It has the dash mounted throttle that operated the governor which was missing when I got it. The jeep needs total restoration, floors are bad as well as the hat channels and is currently apart with the frame on a rotisserie as shown in one photo. The motor has been run and has a rebuilt carb, new water pump, and the valves have been lapped. Title is not a problem as bill of sale only on a vehicle this old in this state.”
(10/04/2014) This might have a DJ body. It’s got no tailgate, no fuel inlet on driver’s side, no tool indents on driver’s side, and looks to have drain holes, though they are slightly covered. Doesn’t run.
“1953 Willys CJ3A that has been owned by the same family last 35+ years. Has original flat head L-134 go-devil motor. Stock drivetrain. Custom built roll cage and racks. Motor cranks over but jeep has not been driven for years. Tires and rims are less then a year old. Cost$900 new. Great jeep for father son project or someone looking for an original jeep. Clean title registered 2015.”
“951 Willys Jeep, at least that’s what the title says, TX title in my name with antique plate. Was going to be a father son project but quickly we realized neither of us knew enough about vehicles to tackle something like this. We got it from my brother-n-law who spent about $3,500 on it to get it running, I have the receipts. Engine seems to run good and doesn’t smoke; we can drive it around the neighborhood. I’ve never tried the 4-wheel drive; none of the lighting works, lots of play in the steering, starter catches and starts the engine about every 3rd or 4th time. We put new tires and shocks on the rear, front tires are good. Has a death wobble in the front left wheel at about 25mph, thought it was bearing related so I installed new bearings, didn’t fix the wobble. Hopefully someone with knowledge of this thing will take it off our hands and have fun with it. I’ve got no idea the value; I’d just like to recover the $2200 we have in it. Bring cash, come haul it off.””
(08/14/2014) Needs a little work, but looks solid. Has a few updates.

“1950 Willys Cj3a, 60’s Buick Nailhead 255ci V6, electronic ignition, new battery and starter, fresh tune up, full roll cage, 4 speed trans with the rare Warn overdrive option, runs great! Brand new Bestop Tigertop ($850) soft top and doors. $3900 obo”
“For sale is an early 1949 Willys CJ-3A Jeep. First line of production in 1949. It has the original engine, .030, # 3J20935. Original Transmission, Tranfer Case and PTO, rear drive type, not for forward winch.
There is a body tag; #;19387 on the firewall just below the Serial # tag that was only used on very early production CJ-3A Jeeps.
Engine and maybe transmission will need to be re-built. Radiator looks good. Will have clear title.
This is a restoration project.”
