Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. There are M-38 (dash, tailgate, grille) and CJ-3A (no battery box, cj gas inlet) elements on the body. Not sure what’s going on here. Seller lists as a CJ-3A.

“What we have here is a 1952 Willys Jeep, before Jeep made em…
It has a flat head that runs well, it stops well, lights all work and it is a HOOT to drive…. All the gears work, choke, high idle, wipers, and yeah, they are individual wipers!! Windsheild folds down… I dunno what else to say…. The tires and wheels look new.. Gas tank has been boiled out, it was super clean.
Seats are not original and I made the frames to fit, using original holes..
She’s ready to enjoy as is… She leaks a few different fluids.. Like most 50 plus year old cars… I do not think the engine has been messed with.. but who knows.. Speedo does not work, but gas gauge does.. I have never put it in 4×4. Know nothing about it.. but has warn hubs?? “

Jeep in fantastic shape virtually NO rust, with factory installed winch, hood, windshield frame and tailgate restored about 15 years ago along with new upholstery all otherwise original . . .only added feature is a bolt in roll cage. Been in garage for the last 15 years
Factory aluminum top needs cleaned up but in pretty good shape and complete.
Trailer is all original and easily restorable with rust damage in the corners of the bed.”

“Willys Jeep for sale, runs, original motor, original tranny, not original seats, original rollbar, windshield and frame in great shape, bought 4 wheels for it, crappy tires on right now. This is a somewhat a project vehicle, but with some new tires and a small amount of work would be absolutely fine for 4 wheeling and hunting. I could part this out for much more than 2500.00 but would like to see the whole jeep go. Light rust, previous owner had carpet in it but I ripped it all out.”

(07/10/2014) Looks in good shape.
“CJ3a. This Jeep has been rebuilt and restored. All new metal-floors, fenderwells, sides-from the cowl back. Linex coated inside and out. New electrical, u joints, exhaust. Engine rebuilt. 11” brakes. 12 volt conversion.
This is an unmolested jeep. No lift, no V8. Stock except as described.
It comes with a trailer to haul it on the highway.
I’ve only driven about 900 miles on forest service roads since I finished it last year.
Do not approach me with counteroffers or trades EXCEPT 2000-2008 Chev/GMC cargo van 3/4-1 ton.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4900
Listed as a CJ-3B, the body is more like a CJ-3A (the windshield is 3bish). The hood looks carefully modified.
“Up for sal is my 1954 Willys CJ3B. This jeep had a modified engine when I bought it. Modified to a ford 2.0L engine. I have had this jeep for a couple years and I just don’t drive it enough. New brake cylinders and tires. Upgraded gauges. New hubs. When I bought it, none of the gauges matched so I bought a set. Has a new speedometer. I also put in a new fuse box as this jeep never had one and it worried me. I have had a vehicle catch fire before and it isn’t fun. This jeep is fun to drive. It gets about 27mpg around town.”
Looks like a project.
