This classic 80’s build makes me drool, even with the exterior cooling fan. It even comes equipped with a hot water shower, multiple batteries and a welder. I’m digging the creativity.
“This is a 1950 Willys Cj3a custom built Jeep. It was built in the late 80’s by myself and my father, garaged its whole life and well maintained. This jeep is a very capable off roader in the right hands. its been through the Rubicon more times than you can count with the proof on the windshield frame “jamboree stickers”. also been through hammers, moab, fordyce…. and the list gos on and on.
It has a 302 V8 with a c4 automatic transmission and a t18 transfer case with a warn overdrive unit. Rear axle is an offset dana 44 with full floating axles and lock out hubs, and an open knuckle dana 30 up front with disk brakes. ARB’s front and rear 5:38 gear ratio front and rear.New bfg mud terrain 33″ tall tires. Equipped with a welder, hot water shower, air compressor, air horn, P/A system, CB radio, Ramsey 8000 lb winch, rancho air shocks, two fuel tanks, dual optima red top batteries, cadillac telescoping and tilting steering collumn, new 2.5″ magnaflow exhaust. Also a bikini top and full top for winter driving and a factory heater. Defrosters!. TONS of spare parts!! runs and drives great. Paint could be redone has a few rust bubbles and peeling around filler neck,paint isn’t perfect but in overall good condition. probably forgot some stuff. email for questions”

The body is supposed to be in very good shape.
“Frame: original and solid, no rot.
Body: original and rough, correct WILLYS logos on fenders, tailgate and windshield.
Suspension: newer leaves lift the jeep 4 inches, no shocks on front currently.
Steering: original and sloppy, should be upgraded.
Engine: 1981 Buick Regal 3.8/231 even fire V6. good motor, could use a new carb.
Trans/ Transfer case: original from 1952. work great.

Seventeen year old James emailed me the other day asking if I’d like to stop by and see his jeep while I was in Denver. Of course, my answer was yes, so we arranged a time to visit yesterday.
After meeting him and his father, I learned that this was James’ first vehicle project. After deciding he wanted an old flat fender, he looked around some before he found a great deal on a 1950 CJ-3A with an overdrive, a sound body and frame, and a running engine. Unfortunately, after buying the jeep, he quickly discovered his 6’8″ body was a little lanky for a flattie. Since he is a little big for it, his goal is to give it a light restoration, get it running good, and then sell it. It looks oike a great father/son project and I wish them the best of luck with it! So, expect to see this CJ-3A available on eWillys at some future point. Thanks goes to James for emailing me and sharing his jeep.

That’s not much rope on the front bumper. It looks in good shape.

Never been cut or modified.
Very good original condition with cosmetic improvements.
Paint, seats, bikini top and full top with side curtains (never been used) were done by previous and show minimal wear.
Purchased in Prescott, AZ about 12 years ago from the estate of a man who was said to be the original owner.
AZ Title shows 31,755 miles (12 years ago) and is marked Box A (actual).
Odometer now shows 45,000 miles.

I have owned this Jeep since 1996. I am in the 2nd rebuild and need to pass it along to the next guy. I recently brought it to Portland from central oregon where it was stored for 4 years. Although the body has some rust, it was slowed down from being down there. The motor, trans and transfer case are not in the Jeep.

“1950 Willys, been converted to a 12 volt system., been painted a few times in the last 60 years, New flywheel ring gear, engine has been rebuilt a few year ago, other then that its mostly original. Runs great, We drive it almost every week in the summer, I don’t know how much to ask for it yet, Its hard to find compairable Willys like this one. I’m putting it out for offers. This jeep looks like it could have crawled up the beaches of Normandy and is a 4×4 that won’t get stuck in the mud. This Jeep is not mint or show quality, but it is in overall good body condition. The upgraded engine is a chevy V6 and it runs very well. It has updated wiring and is street legal. Has the side mounted axe and shovel, gas can, and spare tire. It has a front tow bar so that you can pull it with a 2inch ball to the lake or to your hunting spot. This jeep gets a lot of attention wherever it goes. I”m asking $4,500.
