This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (04/01/2011) The pics are a little blurred, but it looks solid. The buy-it-now price of $2000 might be a good price.
“1952 willys jeep 4×4,buick 265 v-6 engine,new headers,new gas tank,new brakes and cylinders, everything works but horn, have clear title,vehicle is registerd but needs state inspection to drive on public roads.4 wheel drive components work good. very little rust . has lots of new metal.worst rust is above window.”

“This jeep restored close to 20 years ago my dad bought in enumclaw and passed away two years after getting it. it has been garaged ever since with an occasional summer day trip. it has a V-6 Buick motor auto transmission which only has a few hundred miles on it. Dual fuel tanks, a warn winch 8000# has a heater in side also warn overdrive. you can go 60 miles an hour down the highway.”

(04/06/2011) This needs a little work, but might have a body in good condition.
“1951 Willy’s CJ3 My grandfather bought this new years ago. I haven’t run it for a few years because it likes to overheat but it did run last time I tried. It still has the original motor. The paint is weathered but the unit doesn’t have any major damage to it. The four wheel drive still works. The front brakes do need some work on them. The top isn’t the original one that came on it. The gas tank would also need to be replaced. The metal gas tank has accumulated rust on the inside. Email me if you want to make an offer. I’ve already been offered $2000 for it. I will not ship the item and will only accept cash for the sale.”
UPDATE: Bill picked up this parts jeep. It turns out this was a DJ-3A with some rare pieces. He is happy he went to look!
The body doesn’t appear too bad. The hood looks tweaked. If a ‘great’ project is one that requires a lot of work, then this really is a great project.

(02/23/2011) It looks like it has a replacement body.
“This Willys has been completely restored. It can be a daily driver, or a weekend ice cream getter. Improvements too numerous to mention here. EVERYTHING has been rebuilt or replaced. This Willys will not require anything more, but to just be driven. Price includes: roll bar, bikini top, full canopy top, new cover, tow bar for front end, and more. Not a speck of rust! Not a money pit!”
