Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “All original drive train. 12 V electrical system. 11″ breaks. Runs great. Kyline softtop in excellent condition. Seats in excellent condition. Great jeep to just take hunting or perfect to resore. Has been in central oregon since new. Tires in excellent condition. Aluminum wheels. Has a hard top that goes with it but needs some glass. Also has folding tow bar.”

“1950 Willys Jeep CJ3A. A classic jeep in good mechanical order. New wiring, new hoses, new belts, new fuel pump, new battery (12V upgrade), new clutch plate, cover, new throw out bearing, and linkage, flywheel resurface, new flywheel ring gear, new oil pan gasket, new oil lines, new shocks, black steel wheels, 75% tread on 30″ M/T tires, winch, bikini top, 5 G jerry can, high lift jack, all gear oils replaced, engine oil replaced, coolant flush/fill, runs and drives like a tank. New Mexico vehicle with minimal rust.
Has classic foot switch starter (only temperamental component), considering high torque upgrade ($325). Great for hunting, cruising, wheeling, or trail running. $3500 OBO.”

This appears in good shape with a few updates. This jeep is listed as a 1948 CJ-2A.

(08/31/2009) It’s got some brake problems and sounds like a project.
“II have a 51 Willys. I have owned it for around 4 years and just have not got around to fixing it up like I would like. It has been under cover the whole time I have owned it to save it from the rust. I started on cleaning up the body, I grinded it down to metal on most parts and and sprayed rust fix and primer on it to help it. The inside has mostly surface rust but the floor board on the driver side will need replaced at some point. I put new intake mainifold, valve covers, fuel pump, and rebuilt the carb. The picture I have does not have the carb on the engine, but it is on now. I have an extra hood and fender. It does have stock axles under it. Like I said it has been awile since I have done anything with it. If you have any questions shoot me an email, text, or phone call. I’m asking 2500,”

This looks solid. I can’t tell if it needs a paint job on the side or if that’s there by design.
