Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This is a great looking old Willys.
“327 Chevy Engine. Chevy 4 speed tranny. Overdrive 2 high 2 low. Lift kit. Rollbar needs finishing. Trade for pontoon boat, or harley”
I’m not sure there’s much to salvage, though the transfercase knobs look good.

This is a good looking flat fender.
“This is a 1953 Jeep Willys CJ3A. There is NO RUST the body was all redone! The motor is a AMC 360 runs great was rebuilt about 12,000 miles ago. Has A 3 Speed Tranny. It has a new gas tank, new electronic fuel pump, new wiring harness, new gauges, newly rebuilt carburetor, and cleaned radiator. There’s no speedometer and the brakes & steering need restoring. *make offer for price*.”

This is a project with a bunch of new parts, including an entire fiberglass body kit.
“I have a jeep for sale that i started a couple years ago, and i don’t have the time to complete. I started by putting later model cj-5 axles under it, and purchasing a 4” rusty’s offroad lift. I added terraflex “revolver” shackles as well. I bought new gear sets for both front and rear, and new OX lockers to match. Included as well is a one piece axle kit. For tires i bought 34×10.50 super swamper LTB. There are many misc. parts as well that go, but too many to list. ***ALSO INCLUDED IS A NEW FIBERGLASS BODY KIT INCLUDING TUB, FENDERS, AND HOOD.*** there is the factory grille and windshield frame as i thought they would hold up better than a fiberglass one. well over 6000 invested, sell it all for 3500.”

“Willys Jeep. The Good: Complete, mostly original, flat-four. Also includes full 6-point cage, new tires, new shocks, new gas tank and lines, and new brake lines.
The Issues: It has been sitting for a while and was in the middle of a 12-volt conversion that was never finished (no generator or alternator) when I bought it, wiring needs attention, turns over and starts, has a couple rust-out spots under the rear tail lights, quater size hole under the drivers seat in the pan, and rust in the out-rigger body braces under the body near the frame. No pink slip.
I bought it as a project and have not had the time to finish it. It had been sitting for a while prior to me buying it… I massaged the cylinders with some Marvel oil, added some fresh gas to the carb and it cranked over and it tried to run. Sputtered, puttered, but ran. Since then, I have replaced all the gas lines, cleaned the new tank (it had old gas in it), added two inline filters, new plugs, new wires, and there it sat. Thus, I know it’s not frozen and only needs minor tweaking to run.
