This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This is a project, but it’s hard to tell how much ‘project’ is left to do.
“1950 Jeep CJ-3B Willis. All metal in good condition, 4 cylinder L-134, 3 speed transmission, needs windshield and engine rebuilt, great project vehicle. $1,000”

This is a non-running CJ-3A, so the price will undoubtedly drop.
“1950 Willy’s Jeep. Civilian version. Needs…new paint job, some rust restoration, engine work (Not currently running). A few spare parts.
This is a running jeep for only $600. It looks to be a CJ-3A to me.

“Selling 1950 CJ-3A. Everything should be original except wiring was redone 30 + years ago and a new top bought about 25 or so years ago. All in all seems to be in good shape. Has been garage/shed/storage kept since ’83. A little work should get her running. Serial number is 51990. Would like $3k w/ the top or $2500 w/o it. Open to some negotiation. Jeep is located in Raleigh, NC (actually about 5 miles south in Garner). Buyer would be responsible for transporting it. I can also take more specific pics for anyone interested.”
This CJ-3A appears to have a CJ-2A windshield.

There’s been some body work done on the driver’s side near the step.

Original drive train except Warn overdrive has been added. No rust. Runs and drives good. Not many originals left like this.”
Here’s another one of these Willys/Toyota hybrids. It appears to have been a well executed transformation, though the front bumper is a little underwhelming.
“This auction is for my 1953 Willys Jeep built using my many years of experience owning and using lifted Jeeps as daily drivers.The very clean Willys Jeep body is mounted on a Suzuki Samurai frame. This was done to gain a light weight, fully boxed, straight and rust free frame. I installed a Toyota 20R mated to a Toyota 4 speed transmission and 2 speed transfer case. These were bought with about 80,000 miles on them per the previous owner.The engine starts immediately and does not smoke. I upgraded to an electronic distributor and purchased a used MSD box (works great). I am also running a remanufactured Holley 32/36 carburetor.The transmission shifter has a lot of play but there are no issues with how it works (it does not pop out of gear or make noises). A new clutch was put in when the transmission was installed.”

This is a CJ-3A with a M-38 body and some stainless additions, such as the grille and jockey box.
“You are bidding on a beautifully restored 1949 Willys Overland Jeep. It was aquired by a father and son in Utah who did much of the major restorations between 2000 and 2003. During that time it also ran one of the Moab courses. In 2003 it was purchased by a collector in Connecticut who did little more with it than store it in a heated garage. I bought it in 2007. The chasis, engine and drive train are original CJ3A (civilian) and the body is a steel M 38 (military). It has after market front lock out hubs. It is painted Subaru Electric Yellow. The electrical system is 12 volts … reach seller directly at 860-966-0292”
