UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500
This runs and drives.
“I have for sale a project 1954 Willys CJ3b “high hood” jeep. It has the hurricane 4cyl engine in it that runs. The title came from another jeep cause this one doesnt have and id tags, so the title i have for it says it is a 1948 ford jeep. You could still license it like this.
I needs work. This is a fun project, but it does run and drive. I also have an extra engine for it.Make me an offer! $1,500 OBO. IF THIS AD IS UP THEN IT IS SILL FOR SALE!”
UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was listed at $500/each.
(11/08/2011) The CJ-3B is a project.

“1948 Willys CJ2A? Pretty cool old jeep, worth fixing for sure. Looks like it’s all there, I did get the motor to “run” off starter fluid. Frame is good, body is rough but better than most, definatly useable. Motor was rebuilt at some point, looks to have the original drivetrain ( flathead 4, 3 speed manual, spicer 18)”
UPDATE: Still Available
(05/07/2011) This appears in good shape.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800.
(11/01/2012) The body and frame look good, but there is no engine or tranny.
“this a clean little cj3b. i bought it to build but have no time. the previous owner was converting to put a v8 or v6 in it. the body is cherry, no rusted floors. it does not have motor or tranny. the frame was taken apart and painted with the body off. he told me the brakes were rebuilt it has new universal joints. from what i can see it looks like the chassi is done. the body and paint are very clean. all you need to do is finish putting the motor and trans in and ad gauges and a wire kit. the wheels dont come with it. i have another set that came with the jeep when i got it. there’s allot of beat up ones out there that are allot cheaper but where are you gonna find one with a chassi all finished and a cherry body like this one.”
UPDATE: SOLD!
“Mostly stock and lightly restored Willys 1953 CJ3B for sale. $3,600 OBO
This is the high hood version of the post-WWII Willys civilian jeep.
It has the 4 cylinder 134cu, overhead valve “Hurricane” engine. Compression is good (120, 119, 115, 125). The engine has the original oil bath air filter. The jeep still has the original 6 volt electrical and charging system including starter, generator, coil and lights. All of the fluids have been replaced in the last 6 months. The odometer is working and reads 29,XXX. That may be the true miles, but no guarantee. From what I know of the jeeps history, it’s possible.
The transmission is the T-90 three-speed with the dual stick Dana transfer case. The transmission shifts smoothly and does not drop out of 2nd as is common with these older transmissions.
The body was sanded and sand blasted down to bare metal prior to minor sheet metal repair, priming and painting. The body and bed is painted with TSC Restoration Series “International Harvester Red”. The wheels, windshield and roll bar are painted gloss black. It’s not a high end professional paint job but it’s not a rattle can and paint brush job either. The floorboards are solid, but the hat channels underneath need repair as is common with these old jeeps.
I have the original vacum wipers, but have electrical wipers to replace them. This jeep came stock with out turn signals. I have a turn signal kit that is yet to be installed. Depending on the wheather, I might get out in my tent garage and get that done before long.
It has the original brakes, which do work…like 65 year old 9 inch drum brakes. 🙂
The wheels are original 17 inch; painted black and the tires are Maxxis and have about 25-30% tread left.
The seats are original stock and were upholstered at one time in the past with black vinyl. They still look pretty decent. There are no back seats. A new black bikini top is included. Also included is an older black vinyl BesTop brand full soft top and doors. The full top is about 20 years old and needs some seams repaired, but the vinyl, windows and zippers are OK.
I bought it in Georgia where they don’t issue titles for vehicles this old. I’ve taken it to the NC Dept of motor vehicles and they have inspected it and certified the VIN and that it isn’t stolen and I have the paper work to send to the state to have a NC tile issued. I will work with the buyer to get the title if needed. I have the jeep registered, tagged and insured currently.
I’m sure I have posted this one before, but I couldn’t find it . . . nice looking rig.
