Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This runs, drives, but has rust.
“1960 Willys Jeep CJ 3B, Hurricane motor with 3 speed gear box. Starts every time runs great, I was told by the previous owner that the motor was completely rebuilt less than 3000 miles ago. Custom built rear bumper, rear is removable by removing two pins or can swing away to either side. 4×4 works great two stick tranfer case. 5.36 gears with open differentials. Headlights high/low, tail lights and brake lights all work. Heater works. 4 wheel disc brakes. Bikini top included. Jeep drives good down the road with a top speed around 45 -50 mph. 3 inch lift springs with 32×9.50×15 TSL Super Swampers on black steel wheels. The parking brake has not been hooked up yet, but I have the parts included to do so. Over all the jeep is in fair condition, yes it has rust in the body, but the floors are solid, and the jeep is structuraly sound. I DO NOT have a title, Georgia DOES NOT require a title for a vehicle this old, The Jeep is currently registered and insured in Georgia and will be sold with a bill of sale and a copy of the registration. If you have any questions please ask, thanks for looking. You can call me at 404 409 4303, if you are interested in the Jeep. All new bearings and seals in rear end. New Bearings, King pin bearings, and seals in front end. Rebuilt steering box. “Jeep is old, but runs and drives great. New brakes, the clutch and transmission are in great shape. 4-wheel drive. Everything on it is stock. 4-cylinder engine runs great. Tires are Specialty Tires of America 7.00-15LT. No leaks from engine or transmission.
This has a working front and rear PTO with front winch. The PTO works in forward or reverse. The front & rear PTO with axles are worth $2,000 alone.
Only minor rust, mostly from chipped paint, etc. There are no places where it is rusted through. Floors are solid. More photos available.
Clear title. Since this jeep is still mostly stock it would make a great restoring project. Jeep is located in Lakeland, Florida.

This jeep has the most rusted fender (driver’s side) that I’ve ever seen. There is little left to identify it as a fender.

Ants in the distributor … not a good thing.
“I have an late 40’s to mid 50′ jeep willys, I just bought the jeep thinking that I would know what I was doing with it. The jeep ran great a year ago per the prior owner. So I put a hot battery in the jeep and it turns over great, but no fire. So i check under the dist. cap to see it full of ants causing corrosion to the points. Thats when I get lost. I work with later model jeeps and this one is not for me. It does have RUST all over. floor boards, sides, just all over.It also has the windshield frame off of it, and the tow hitch to pull it behind your rig. If you know what your doing mechanic and autobody wise. You can have a great lil woods jeep or fix it up nice. I researched the jeep to find out that ww2 nuts are asking huge prices for alot less jeep than this. So I dont think I am unfair on the price. Just want my money back asap to continue working on a late model CJ7, In which I know how to deal with. Come check it out. I bought this jeep as soon as it was posted. A highly desirable and restorable flat-fender high hood classic.
Runs good, body and frame are in great condition.
I’ve owned it for almost two years and my restoration contribution has been:
Replaced the fuel and temp gauge, new radiator, new bearings and field windings in the starter, new voltage regulator, new front wheel cylinders and shoes, new universal joints, and emergency brake cable. It’s a great machine, but a disc issue in my back is preventing me from driving it, so it’s for sale!”
