This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1959 Willys jeep good condition ,cracked windshield but I have another wind shield to replace it with, Hard top and doors ( Aluminum ), a soft top came with Jeep when I bought it. Just started to sand and clean old paint and remove body tub for restore but like so many other things life got in the way. There are no rusted through areas and almost no surface rust . I just do not have enough time in the day to do everything . So, if your looking for a nice restore project here it is . The engine runs but has some smoke . I towed it home no unwanted noises or problems but I’m just starting a complete restore on it, not sure whats ahead . I know the value of this Jeep and the possibilities it holds. I’m willing to Barter or sell for cash Send me an e-mail and lets talk. Put ” 1959 ” in the subject in the line or the e-mail will be DELETED……….. THANK YOU”

Frank is selling his CJ-3B.
“For sale: 1954 Willys CJ3B with new tub, rebuilt brakes, all U joints, engine, tranny/transfer case, new beachwood seat covers and foam inserts. Five brand new ndcc tires. The frame was sandblasted and painted with POR 15. It runs great; it has an original F head engine. I documented the restoration with some pics on the CJ3B page. The tub came from willys overland in toledo. The Jeep is now on 12 volts and has an alternator in it. I have extra hood and fender that go with it. The email address is fporfidio@optonline.net . The jeep is in new york (long island). I am asking $8200. This is pretty close to a turn key jeep. I’ve got way more than that into this jeep. I have a ton of pics so if you want to see something just ask me, thanks.”

(06/22/2010) This looks pretty nice, though something unusual has been done to the hood. There are 2 bolts/rivets on both sides of the hood that seem to warp it slightly. There is also a motor issue.
“Real nice old jeep. was restored about 10 years ago. Body is in great shape… didn’t require any patchwork. Interior was PROFESSIONALLY Rhino Lined. Not the cheap imitation stuff. Completely new wiring harness, 12 volt. New Gauges. New seats, new upholstery, new rear seat. New Tires. All new switches. New brakes, New heater. No expense spared. Everything was gone through, and it has less than 5000 miles on it since completion. Needs some motor work / new motor depending on how handy you are. An exhaust seat let loose on the number 3 cylinder. Didn’t do any damage to the motor, but it needs a new one pressed in. I’m not handy enough, nor do I have the time to do the work. Top end is off the motor. Winch not included. Comes with a rollbar, new bikini top.”

(04/25/2010) According to the seller, the body is in bad condition. However, the seller claims to have a replacement fiberglass body. If it’s a CJ-3B fiberglass body, that would be a rare item to have.
“195? Willys CJ3B Jeep, now a project vehicle at this point… As seen in the pictures, the body is basically gone. The engine is a Dauntless 225ci V6 2-bbl with dual exhaust. There was nothing wrong with the engine when parked, but it hasn’t even been turned over in years. The transmission is a Muncie car 4 speed that has been addapted to the Buick engine. A Warn overdrive unit is attached to the back of the Dana 18 transfer case. The frame is in excellent shape, with a Rancho 4″ lift. The axles are a Dana 27 front, Dana 44 rear, 5:38 gears, both open. I do have a complete new fiberglass body for it, and an original (good shape) steel Willys grille. If you want the original four cylinder engine and T90 tranny, I have that too. I’ll be available the weekend of April 23 – 25 to show it, if you’re interested. Mike 330-998-3583.”

(03/22/2010) Nice, very nice. But, it does need the floor boards replaced due to the transmission install. It’s unclear just how much work is required.
“1954 Willys CJ 3B highhood with the following: Chevy 327, 4bbl, high torque starter, headers, new clutch, newly rebuilt SM465 4-spd with “granny low”, Advance Adaptors to a rebuilt Dana 18 transfer case with upgraded intermediate shaft, Warn overdrive, new drivelines fr/r, Dana 44 front and rear with Detroit lockers, 4-wheel disk brakes, tilt steering, full cage, bikini and full top, racing bucket seats and 5 point harness, custom front bumper with receiver mount for portable Warn winch. (winch not included), towbar, 33″ (?) Swampers on American Racing wheels, Warn locking hubs front, upgraded axel shafts (forget brand)……red….Hummm…. That’s all I can think of right now. It looks great and everything works. Only thing it needs is the floor boards replaced from transmission swap. Have the floor boards.”
