Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (11/11/2015) It’s a project, but there looks to be some value here.
“1961 CJ5 Willys Jeep. This jeep is a project that is almost done. It has been sitting for a few years and I need to get rid of it. It has a number of modifications. It has a rebuilt Chevy 4.3L with no miles on it. Used turbo 350 transmission. 205 transfer case. International front and rear end with 370 gears. Almost new 33×12.50 tires with aluminum wheels. Replaced the leaf springs and has a lift. Custom bumpers and a luggage rack on the back. Needs: wiring harness, radiator, alternator, steering box, seats, soft top. It’s a project so you can take it as far as you want. I have a hard top that I got off a mail jeep but needs some modifications to make it work. Must be hauled away. Please don’t call if you just want to talk about jeeps. ”

Given the half cab, there could be value here.
“selling body only (frame is NOT for sale). it has the hanging pedal upgrade with hydrolic clutch and vaccume booster brakes, extra fuel tank also has very well built rear swinging tire and jerrycan holder. downside is the floorboard/firewall was butchered for a V8, but it comes with a wheelbarrow to fix it. these half cabs are hard to find this far south, i have almost all of it, things missing is one door glass is broke (it’s flat glass, easy fix) and i am missing the body side hinges (not hard to duplicate, pipe and pin deal). email your number and I’ll call you back.”

“One owner vehicle purchased new in 1959. Only 20,133 miles. Received as part of estate when owner passed. Comes equipped with snowplow and Power Takeoff for implements. Many records included.”
Seller must sell quick. It appears to have an overdrive (not sure about the claimed PTO). It has a funky rear end carrier, too.

“1960 jeep willys cj5 perfect project car! very little rust, straight frame, 289 V8, working 4 wheel high and low, locking hubs. 3 speed manual. Was a daily driver until a few months ago needs a carburetor tune up and one of the plugs is sparking. Dauntless/Buick 225 V6 runs strong. 3spd manual, showing 16346 miles, 4×4 manual hubs, nearly new 31×10.50r15 bfg mud terrains, brand new cragar 15 inch steel wheels, 2.5 inch rough country lift with new springs and shocks, rear powertrax locker, new plugs, plug wires, new choke cable, new fuel filter, rodded out and refurbished radiator, new radiator hoses, new thermostat, new distributor cap, new hood latches, fresh engine oil/filter, new oil in transmission and transfer case, rebuilt carb, new fuel lines, all lights work, gauges work, 4×4 works, transmission shifts and does not pop out of gear. Comes with bikini top and I assume all softop hardware. No frame or floor board rust issues. One rust spot on passenger rocker panel and small rust on supports of inner fenders. Clean and clear title in hand.”
