About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“This is the PERFECT mail truck if you are a rural carrier for the USPS. No it doesn’t have power steering, but it is TOUGH and built to to the job (yes, 30 years ago, but you would be surprised how well it maintains it’s appropriate use!) I have recently changed the starter, it was making a funny sound when I turned it over, it cost $100 and three bolts later, it was changed. Didn’t even need to jack it up, you can crawl under it easily. You feel safe in this truck because it is recognizable as a Mail Truck.
“1979 jeep DJ5G postal jeep.
Runs good, new factory rebuilt carburetor, rebuilt tranny, newer heavy duty battery.
$45. Service manual included.
This would be a great project for someone who likes to rebuild old vehicles. It runs now, just renew a few accessories and you have a great unusual vehicle!
Some minor rust on body.
This is 37 years old. It was built to drive city streets delivering mail, so top speed is about 45-50.
It drives great on flat; hills, not so much. It can do them, but very slowly, and it doesn’t like them! It has some play in the steering wheel, and due to sitting, the brakes aren’t up to par, but my mechanic says that is normal for sitting so long without being driven, and they should do fine after driving a bit.
Odometer and speedometer don’t work: it’s a cable issue.
Estimate @ 34K.
Has the tray installed right now. I could remove if you prefer.
One seat, not original (much more comfy!)I found the original passenger seat, included
New radio/CD player
These photos are a bit old, but vehicle looks the same, a bit of fading on paint, but otherwise, it is EXACTLY as represented and written description.
Terms are cash only. No Shipping, you must pick it up.”
“$1,700 OBO. Runs, drives. Clean Title. Some rust, no dents. Nice interior Lots of new parts. Would be a great daily driver with some work or could be used for a postal route.”
“This is a right hand drive postal jeep from 1984. It’s a dj5-m. It runs and drives. I used it for my mail route every day but have recently switched jobs. Clean title in my name and it passed emissions two years ago.
I also have a set of almost new chains to go with. Some spare parts I have to go too include a refurbished starter that it ended up not needing, some new brake shoes, jack, service manual and some other little bolts and pieces.”
