This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have a right hand mail jeep for sale. It is in good shape for the year. I bought it to use on my mail route but the post office supplied me with one so this one needs to go. It has studded tires for the winter and regular ones. Would do good for a paper route or just to drive around. I am asking $1800

“Come test drive this old mail truck, right side stearing. It’s a 1982 Mail Jeep DJ-5L – Runs great. Most all lights have been replaced with LED lighting.”

Has a cold tranny issue, but appears solid otherwise.
“Has a transmission issue and I just let it warm up before I went anywhere. Postal Jeep for sale that has been used for many years to deliver mail. This thing is a tank. I have left the postal service and was going to restore it but it just seems to sit there. So I will pass this fun to drive Jeep on to you. It has a mail tray that can be removed if you want to use it for other than mail. Its a white 1978 with a 6 cylinder engine and is amazing on gas. CJ5 F. Please call me with any questions you may have and when you would like to come take a look at it and hear it run.”

“JEEP CJ-5RIGHT HAND DRIVE POSTAL JEEP, HAD TRANNY REBUILT 3-4 YEARS AGO HAVEN’T USED IT MUCH SINCE BOUGHT A NEW JEEP. IT COMES WITH THE SPARE CJ-5 JEEP FOR PARTS MOST TAKE BOTH JEEPS NEED GONE SO SHOOT ME AN OFFER THE WORSE I CAN SAY IS NO!”
It’s got a few issues, but runs and drives.
“I have for sale a 1982 AMG Jeep DJ 5. It is right hand drive and has large, sliding doors — making it perfect for use as an icecream truck or something like that. It is also just a cool car in general. Definitely unique, definitely turns heads on the street (and that was before the paint job!). It runs well and is really fun to drive. However, it does have a couple issues too: the electronics are funky. The lights and gauges work off-and-on. I also only have the keys for ignition and driver-side door. The engine was rebuilt a few years ago and is still in very good shape.
I will also be including with the car a set of four studded tires (good condition) and (if you want it) a collection of misc parts and equipment for the car.”

“I am selling a 1978 jeep dj-5 “supervisor edition” as it is a left hand drive jeep and not a right hand drive like most others which makes this pretty rare. also this jeep is pretty solid!! the frame is perfect!! I have been driving it and it is a real fun rig and turns heads everywhere!!the only reason I am entertaining selling this is that I really need a truck and already have another jeep…it needs 4 tires,and 1 very small hole in the floor board fixed..like I said I have put over 700 miles on this.. it has all new brakelines,wheel cylinders,master cylinder,exhaust,front brakes,alternator and battery,and radiator,and im probably forgetting some stuff. $2500 or exciting truck trades…. also this has 37,700 ORIGINAL miles!! straight 6 engine automatic transmission”

“Brand new transmision, new gas tank, new radiator, new starter, new brakes, new drums, new master cylinder, new shocks, 1983 motor with 90,000 miles. Less than 500 miles since put together. Work at the Post Office and don’t need any longer. Over $2000.00 invested on parts. Also have extra parts that i will throw in. Price neg.”
