Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1970 Jeep mail delivery for sale. Right hand drive. 2 wheel drive.I have an affidavid in lieu of title. The previous owner lost the title.. In good shape. Buick V6 is bad. Needs to be replaced. Good Turbo 350 transmission. $700 or best offer.”

“The Auction is in Etters, PA just off I-83 south of Harrisburg and north of York. There’s more than 50 oldies to pick from including two DJ’s. In the picture it shows a DJ3A on the left and a LHD DJ5 on the right. Looks like the DJ3A shown in pix 35 and 36 has many usable part. Emailing the auction company got nothing back, so I’m assuming they expect it all to go for junk. Hopefully someone local can snatch them. No Titles, just be prepared to move ’em quickly says the instructions.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay. It’s a rare DJ-6.
The DJ-6 model was built from 1965 to 1973 according to some sources and 1965 to 1968 according to others. The most expensive DJ-6 was $1,818 according to All-Par.
“Up for auction is this nice old Willys DJ6 Jeep. I bought this from a collector in KC MO and he had it for over 25 years stored in his building. I understand that this is a hard Willys model to find. It was bought new by Merrit Dairy and used to sell Ice Cream out of. The Delight Company bought it and made it into the Ice Cream Jeep by adding the top which unbolts and makes it into a normal DJ6, their brass tag is rivited to the firewall as seen in pictures . The body is nearly rust free as it was never used in winter months. The floor panels and fender wells are in very good condition. There are some dings in the fenders and dents here and there but are very solid. The engine is the 4 banger and has a 3 speed manual tranny. I believe these are orignial miles as it runs and operates very smooth. No blow-by on engine. This will make a great restoration project as the basics are very complete and solid.”

(01/21/2010) Now this is a huntin’ Jeep.
“1955 Willys Jeep 4 Cyl F-Head 4X4, Completely Rhino-Lined Flat Green inside and out (this alone cost $2000.00), 4 Gun Racks and 1 Bow Rack, New All Seasons Corn Spreader (reinforced to protect spinner unit), Heavy duty overhead off-road lights, Very large front game basket / rack, Normal size storage basket / rack on back for ice chests/gear, High lift jump seat with seatbelt and additional covered storage compartment underneath, 10 ply tires & spare mounted on rear of jeep. Recently replaced brakes, alternator, starter, battery and wiring. Maintained regularly for the last 10 years. Perfect for hunting or ranch use but not street legal at current point. Runs good and quiet. Extremely simple to work on and can still get parts at almost all auto parts stores. Bought bay boat and wife is making me sell this. Can email additional pictures if needed.
