Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Don shared these pics from this weekend’s all breeds jeep show in York, Pennsylvania. Apparently, it poured on Saturday; Sunday, when these pics were taken, was much nicer.
Art shared this announcement regarding this year’s Fall Willys reunion in Fulton, Missouri, at the Auto World Museum.
“This is our 23rd year of the Reunion, and it is open to the public, and all makes, models, and years of Jeep are welcome. If you register for the Reunion, entrance to the Auto World Museum is free. We hold a wonderful banquet on Saturday evening with door and raffle prizes. There are also vendors attending to sell new and used Jeep parts. There is also the Off-road trail rides.”
This past weekend was the 2018 Willys America Open House. Thanks to Paul Barry for hosting and for Scramboleer Dan for posting photos and reports at the Old Willys Forum. You can see all the photos here (you must be logged in to see most of the photos). I’ve posted a few pics below.
A distant relative of mine was vacationing in Bad Sachsa, Germany, when he spotted this jeep. They city has an annual Schützenfest that includes a parade.
It looks like the same jeep was in the 2017 parade.

Willys America’s open house is this coming weekend (Saturday July 14th 10am to 4pm). Dan Bowermaster will be leading the caravan from San Francisco to the event in Cazadero. I *thought* I’d be attending it this year with Ann and my daughter Kasia (who is completing an internship in Walnut Creek this summer), but complications forced me to put it off again this year.
