Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “L 226, side shift T 90 Transmission, and Dana 18 transfer case from an FC -170. The engine turned over when pulled. Comes with stock transmission shift linkages, driveshafts, and hard to find shifter for an FC.”

“Jeep Willy FC170 (Not sure ’58-’62). This truck is a project. Motor is from Kaisor Car – early 50’s. Big ticket needs are radiator & glass. I worked on this in the winter and now time to move it on. I have some parts to go along with – $3,000 As Is. Hope to be at the 2023 Spring Reunion in North Canton”

“1960 Jeep FC-150 Brush Fire Truck was created by the Noble Township Volunteer Fire Department in Ohio in the late 70s. We bought the Jeep not running. We had a local shop (Wrenchers) clean the fuel system, install a gas tank, and service the brakes (6 years ago). The engine and drivetrain is overall stock/original and does leak a little bit of oil. The Jeep was lifted, with blocks, to deal with the larger tires and the off-road terrain it was modified to run on. We adapted an additional electronic fan to help with cooling during slow parade routes. All head/turn/running lights work, and the emergency lights and siren also work. Each of the 3 benches in the back has 3 seat belts, or two booster seats. This is the Only FC-150 I have ever seen with this type of cab/bed modification, and it is a blast to drive in parades and around town. Top speed is around 44 mph. Large dent on front driver corner shown in the last photo. No body/frame rot. Normal surface rust underneath”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.
The FC-170 appears to have been a dually.
“2 60s FC170 and 150 The 170 has a small block Chevy in it with the adapter. The 150 has stuck motor in it don’t know much about it. Serious inquiries only will not answer to is this still available. “This is a beautiful 1958 Jeep Willys FC150 Forward Control. The first FC-150 bore a lot of mechanical resemblance to the CJ, using the same F-head 134-cube four-cylinder engine, T-90 three-speed manual transmission, and Spicer 18 T-case with similar front Spicer 25 and rear Dana 44 axel.
It runs and drives, but the water pump is starting to leak. Gas tank is new , use to had a boom wrecker in the bed but the wrecker and flashing lights have been removed. Still have the flashing lights you can install it if you like .
I’m a dealer and I have a clear Illinois title for this truck . When I looked up the VIN , it indicates that it is a 1957 model. I think back then, some states titled vehicles in the year that they were purchased, which may explain why it is titled as a 1958.
This truck need a professional paint job and new upholstery , I seen this trucks sell over $50,000 in perfect condition. Please view my other listing .”
