This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is a project good NJ Title. has been running 3 years ago. very rusty body. frame seems fine. Really complete extremely rare jeep.”
Based on the door’s lettering, it’s an ex fire department FC from Stewart Manor, which is a small town located on New York’s Long Island. In the Sometimes-it-is-better-to-be-lucky-than-good department, I found what appears to be an original photo of this jeep. They are both #3.

“1964 M677 JEEP FC 170. RARE U.S.M.C. MILITARY JEEP, VERY FEW BUILT AND EXTREMELY HARD TO OBTAIN. 4X4, 302 FORD V8 ENGINE, MANUAL 3 SPEED TRANSMISSION, HI LOW TRANSFER CASE, STOCK AXLES, ENGINE RUNS AND M677 WILL MOVE UNDER IT OWN POWER ,NEEDS TO BE CHECKED AND INSPECTED TO SEE WHAT REPAIRS ARE NEEDED TO DRIVE. “1957 Jeep FC-150
Last driven in 2010 before issues with the steering. Repairs include a rebuilt engine, new break drums in the rear, new brake shoes all around, new wheel cylenders all around, steering rebuild kit, and a small amount of body work. All origional parts included, as well as a service manual.”

“This is a project –
The Good-
Solid cab (except for one hole – see picture) and box. Somebody tried to put a 283 chevy with an automatic in it – and failed! Included is a parts truck with a non-running F134.
Many parts are included, the transfer case that’s in the vehicle has an overdrive on it. The transfer case on the non-running engine has a pto on it. Also included is a new windshield plus new rubber for all the windows. Plus Service and owners manuals (reprints).
The Bad-
Frame has been repaired above the front axle on both sides (see pictures).
Somebody put 3.91 gears in it – I have no idea if they have been properly setup. The parts truck does have 5.38 but it is a narrow track.
The wheel well for the spare tire was cut out and welded in upside down (???)
Missing the heater- Found one, but the housing is rusted.
I have too many projects – it would be nice to see somebody restore the Jeep.”
