This new video from Mark & Tom Smith share the Jeep Farm’s work on a 1976 Wagoneer.
Listed as a 1998 photo, I believe this is actually dated on the back of the photo as being ’48.

Roberto shared these illustrations.
The first one (digital artwork) is a commissioned order cartoon for a customer at Quebec, Canada. It depicts a Canadian made Willys M38 jeep and his owner at the wheel (with his wife at co driver seat). This was offered as a birthday gift by a friend of him.

The second one, hand painted, is another Willys M38 jeep. This one was ordered by a customer at South Dakota. You could see the Mount Rushmore at background plus some details (birds, etc.) at the background. The customer appears at the wheel of his jeep with all his family.
And the third one (in black and white, also hand painted) was ordered as a birthday gift by a German customer and it was offered to his girlfriend. Both of them appear as his jeep and as background I draw a typical old French street.
UPDATE: This ad is still available.
I guess Texcel was a Scotch Tape competitor? Never heard of it.

This March 10, 1948, article in the Toledo Blade reported that the FTC ordered Willys Overland to stop claiming or inferring that it had “either acting alone or in co-operation or collaboration with the United States Army or with any other agency or party, created or designed the automotive vehicle known as the jeep.”

This August 25, 1958, article in the Sydney Morning Herald welcomed jeep manufacturing to Australia. The in-depth articles cover quite a bit of jeep history. The ads are interesting, too. Because the articles, photos, and ads are so interconnected, I’ve included full-page reproductions of the pages rather than try to slice them up to make them web friendly. There is also a useful list of jeep dealers for anyone tracking the history of jeeps in the state of New South Wales.
Here’s a great shot of Joe’s tattoo with his GPW MB in the background. Looks great on you Joe!
