This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Louie takes very good care of his vehicles. It has been stored in his garage.”
The California Automobile Museum (location) in Sacramento has at least three. I have been there yet, but it might be a potential stop on our California tour in March. The M-38 and CJ-2A were photographed by Jack Snell in August of 2013 (more great jeep photos by Jack in his photo stream).

“Not sure exactly what year jeep (1942-1945) GPW jeep. All is there (motor,trans and drive train. Currently doesn’t run. Be a great restoration project or lease vehicle. Tires are flat so need a come along or winch on trailor to pull it up. NO TITLE.”

(04/02/2013) This is supposed to have an early serial number: #19984.
“1942 ww2 jeep gpw-19984
Have pink and is currently on non-op
Still has original style T-84 transmission
Tub is pretty rusty and someone skinned the back half with sheet metal, I removed the back part
Previous owner said the motor was rebuilt shortly before he bought it and he didn’t get much use out of it before the brakes went out
Brakes need to be gone through and fixed, currently it is rigged up where just the fronts work
Oil pan was dropped and cleaned out (which ended up being pointless) when I got it before I got it running
Has been converted to 12 volt, just put a brand new battery in it
Starts, runs, and shifts great
Would make a great restoration project
$2700 obo”

This is likely a mix of parts.
“Registration says 46 ford willys hood grill windshield have been changed I have the original square corner windshield frame one if the hinged headlights extra t case and trans as well as a other set of axles has flat head and 3 three speed trans.has no rust in the tub for sale or trade price is firm”

This New Year’s Day auction in Laporte, Indiana, includes three jeeps and a trailer. However, only pics of a MB/GPW and a M-38 are shown.

“945 WWII Jeep GPW
Almost all original 1945 Jeep GPW, this Jeep has all it’s extremely hard to find original drive train and it runs great and drives. The Jeep is in good shape for being 73 years old, I was in the process of restoring it to all original but the garage is getting too crowded with 6 Jeeps so I need to thin the herd out a little.
This Jeep is perfect for an all-out off the showroom floor restoration or the way I was going to do it where it is back to original but with some original patina so you’re not afraid to take it out and play with it.
It has a New reproduction fuel tank in it, New pinion seals, New paint, New hood blocks, New reproduction shipping plate, all New oil’s, New battery and New windshield catches.
It also has the original mounting in the floor/frame for the .30 cal machine gun mount.”
