Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (07/24/2011) “1945 Willy’s, Ford chassy with Willy’s motor, Jeep does not run only cause it has been sitting for about 6 yrs. Brake line broke and I just parked it. Has locking hubs and stock motor, stock wheels. Body and frame are stright and in good condition. This would be a great jeep for someone that want’s a project. asking $3,000 OBO, but serious inquiries only please.”

“This is an original, 1942 GPW Ford Jeep. It was built Dec. 21, 1942. This jeep is as complete and rust free as you will ever find. This jeep has always been garaged and has a clear Title.
The Ford GPW were manufactured from 1941 to 1945. These small four-wheel drive utility vehicles are considered the iconic World War II Jeeps
This jeep comes complete with all five combat rims and canvas. There are numerous extra parts, including the original carburetor, 6-volt generator and fire extinguisher. I have converted the lights and alternator to 12 volts for brighter headlights but the jeeps comes with its original regulator, original generator, gauges and tail lights etc …. everything to put it back into 6 volts.”

This looks pretty solid. One of the commenters believes this might be an early GPW.
“Up for auction is my Jeep Willys MB in very restorable condition. Very solid body and no rust on frame.(Don’t let the pictures confuse you) The only rust on the body is on both sides of the head channels, approx. 4” long. Can be repaired without removing panels. 5 Original Combat rims with all new tubes & tires. Engine turns by hand. Tranny, 4 wheel drive, Hi/Low levers move freely as they should. Vehicle stears nicely and rolls freely.
My opinion is that this is an easily restorable project. The vehicle is 90% there, all original including almost all original E C marked bolts and early zipper style cushions. (see pics) There is the original front bumper and wooden filler. I believe that the body was never taken off the frame. Vehicle has clean transferable title. It is titled as a 1943 Jeep Willys Ut, which I’m not sure is accurit, since I don’t have the original data plates. Vehical originally came from California.

(05/06/2012) This can’t be very far from me as Pasco isn’t that big of city. I’m leaving town tomorrow, so I doubt I’ll have a chance to check it out. It might have a GPW frame based on the crossmember.
