This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1943 Ford GPW (jeep); Original Engine, Frame & Body, WA Titled w/currant tabs, converted to 12v, new wiring. Includes M38 Arctic top.”

“WW2 jeep GPW date on glove box tag is 8/17/42, serial number on tag and frame is 40163. Both transmission and transfer case have old rebuild tags from Richmond, Ca. Engine will run needs carb., dist. work and?”

“This rare old jeep has been used hunting and 4-wheeling and putting around town. It has some paint but is mostly brown primer. The body has not been altered except for moving the fuel receptacle from under the seat to the side of the vehicle , so it could easily be restored. The engine is GPA,(military amphibious), and runs good. It has the original back seat but the front seats have been replaced. It also has a canvas top and a winch (made from WWII airplane parts).”
UPDATE: This appears SOLD, but was listed at $800.
I could be wrong, but the slopes and cut of the passenger and driver’s sides look very similar to a Willys MA, thought maybe a Ford GP as well?. This has been hacked up a bit, but it’s worth a look. Check out what appears to be an emergency brake as well.

Based on the price, it might be worth a look, though it appears to have an updated engine.
“1942 Ford GPW jeep 4 x 4, great for hunting lease or to restore! Engine is good-chevy two. Needs new or rebuild transmission and transfer case. Needs a little TLC, but a really nice project.”

“Repainted and ready for Stars and Numbers. This Jeep has Five-Brand New Tires added to the Vehicle all on Combat Rims. Also included is Tire Pump, Shovel, Ax and Fire Extinguisher. Jeep has Ford Marked Pintle Hook. Engine runs good and was rebuilt by previous owner. Data Plates are original and number matches frame. Canvas Seats and Top are New. Ford Marked Engine and Head. Update – Per many requests….
The Data plates are original and they have a delivery date of 4-6-42
The SN on the Data Plate is “GPW 11640”
The SN on the Frame is also “GPW 11640”
The SN on the Engine is 419597 — The Engine does have a Ford Head on it..
The jeep is missing the Mudflap buttons on the body, Crash pads, and Safety straps. It does not have Fire Extinguisher Bracket, but comes with the Fire Extinguisher.
Inside the Hood is a Pocket for the Lube Chart and a Bracket for a grease gun. Grease Gun is not included. Let me know if you would like additional pictures.

It’s got some cancer and some unusual bumpers.
“Early Ford GPW. Ford name on back. Lots of F Mark parts on it. It has rust, floors need to be replaced, needs glass for windshield, good for parts or to restore. Motor turns over, not locked up. Has Willys engine not a Ford.”
This looks pretty unmolested.

This seems like a fine little jeep that’s a solid driver. However, I’m not seeing the follow-me theme. Am I missing something?
“1942 Ford GPW World War II military jeep. Yellow Follow Me Jeep. 1/4 ton 4×4. Serial number 65055. Build date 09/15/1942. Runs and drives with clear AZ title. Located in Mesa AZ. Has been in Military show and 4wheeling in desert”

RARE FIND!!! This is a 1943 FORD GPW Jeep. Serial #110254. It is missing the hood, grill, gas tank, and glass out of the windshield frame – otherwise complete. Worth a great deal more and a lot if restored. Body damage is minimal – normal for the age. It has a Willys Flathead motor. Motor turns over with a wrench – have never tried to get it fully running. Bought it as a set with a 2nd Ford jeep that I am using and so don’t need this one. Call for more info. Asking $600 OBO.”

1957 M38A1 – Tub, grill, fenders, windshield frame (with glass), Two dashes(one of them has the main gauge), and hood. Little rust not bad. Does not include seats pictured. $900
1965 CJ5 – Tub, grill, fenders, hood, no dash. Fenders have rust and so does the body but not too bad $500
