1941 MB Slatgrille Bremerton, Wa Price?

UPDATE:  Dexter confirms that the seller is correct; it is a slatgrille.  However, it isn’t a GPW and it has the wrong grille.  That threw me off.  Dexter says the G503 site discussed this.

“I have a 1941 Ford GPW ( Ford made Willys MB). It has a lot of Slat Grill parts left on it and I verified this through G503.com a few years back. This Jeep is a little bit beyond my knowledge and experience for restoration but no doubt saveable. It has typical floor rust and will need a new pan. Its solid enough to stand on though. Has a CJ engine that ran and drove before I started tearing it down and it still cranks if you hook up a battery.  The rear end grenaded before I got it but it is Ford stamped. I’m slowly working on restoring it to a condition of one used in the field and will continue to but I don ‘t think I can do it justice. Its a Slat grill and should be restored by someone with more experience. Its got some typical “bubba” mods and additions but Ive already removed most of the hard stuff.”

1943 GPW Cheyenne, WY **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB) This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

“The title says the identification number is GPW118786. According to my research that makes it an F4. The date of deliver is 6/6/43. The serial number on the data plate, and the frame, and the title all match. The body is in very nice condition. It has a few dents here and there but nothing major. There is some rust under the drivers and passengers opening, but its not bad. Looking under the vehicle, the only rust that I can see is on the floor support channels where they installed wood inside, those are rusted, the rest of the floor however is not rusted through. Under the mats there is some rust but it cleans right up with some pitting left. The front bumper is a heavy bumper and is not original as far as I know. there is a heater installed on the passenger floorboard.

The engine is an F head engine, not original to this Jeep. The previous owner left a note with the titles that stated the engine was new and not used much. The engine is spotless, not a bit of oil build up on it. I had the engine running but the distributor bound up and broke. I have a brand new distributor that goes with the Jeep.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.

(06/14/2010) This looks like a nicely done upgrade. That’s a lot of power for that undersized frame.

“I have a 1945 Ford GPW, V8 conversion, Chevy 350 bored .030 over, 4-speed trans, lockers front and rear, all new wiring. ”

mb/cj2a Pittsburg, CA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A, GPW (Ford MB), MB This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200.

It runs and drives.  It is a combo jeep, but the price is good.

“Military Jeep for sale. Yes it runs! Working motor, running gear, transmission. I hate getting rid of it but we’re moving out-of-state and have to figure out how to move 3 vehicles already!
Has: 1942 Ford GPW frame, hood, windshield, grill, and other misc parts (all still have their F stamp visible); 1945 Military engine (running) with new fuel pump; 1946 Willy’s tub and transmission. The transmission is good but the tub is not in great shape.

Needs: seats; fuel tank (we just put the fuel line into a gas tank when we run it); drive shaft (it fell out when we flat towed it to our new place); tires (2 are flat though they’ll hold air long enough to tow it home or put it up on a trailer); We sanded all the old pealing yellow paint off of it and it is primer gray but we never got further than that.

This would make a great parts vehicle (we’ve been told the steering wheel alone is worth $300!) Or for those that are looking to buy a new fabricated tub and throw it on there and have a look-a-like military jeep to play around in (our plan). Or a great starter for a crazy Rock Crawler.
The parts mentioned above are the main F stamped parts so if you’re looking to restore it to a stock gpw it would need a lot. But like I said it’s great as a part donor or casual military jeep lover.

Please note we do not have a title for it, it will be bill of sale only. According to the dmv you just need to get a VIN verification done on it (simple as bringing it down to the CHP office) and DMV will then issue title and registration.  Asking $1200″”

This is a no reserve auction on a nice looking, though modified, GPW.

“For sale is a 1943 Ford GPW jeep.It has been modified and sports a V6 (Dauntless odd-fire) engine, Saginaw steering and a rear mounted fuel tank. Full top from Best Top. Good brakes, new master cylinder. The jeep is drivable but needs a carb workover as it runs somewhat rough. Frame is rust free and the frame number matches the data plates. Body appears solid.”
