Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. **SOLD** Was listed for $500
“No title, not presently running. Motor turns over with starter. Ran good and 4 wheel drive worked about 8 years ago. Brakes weren’t working at that time. I sold it and it sat around since then. I got it back and tried to start it but was unsuccessful. It no longer has a rear drive line or air cleaner. If you have either of those parts you’d like to sell, let’s talk. Hope to add pictures to ad tomorrow.

I found a website called 1943MB.com the other day and thought that it had some useful information. I didn’t realize it until now, but there’s a list of similar sites. While they look similar, they appear to have at least some different information (I didn’t investigate too closely). For example, the 1941MB.com site has a link to a slat grille rebuild.

Very clean & well built”

I’m not a big fan of the bumpers, but everything else looks good on the GPW.

UPDATE: Price dropped to $750
This has a nice rollcage, and HEI distributor, v6 headers, and possibly a one wire alternator with the V-6. This might be a decent deal, especially if you have another tranny around.
“1943 Jeep Willys. Engine works, tranny doesn’t. Locked up. Was planning on fixing, but after a year and a half, haven’t. Jeep’s located 20 mins. east of Julian. Call me at 619-722-7065 for more information and a time to go see Jeep.”
Kind of a funky paint job, but it would probably clean up well.
“Rare 1942 Ford Jeep WWII. During WWII Willys-Overland Co. could not produce enough jeeps to meet the war demand, thus Ford starting producing jeeps in the exact image of the Willys model so that the parts were interchangeable. Sense limited production were produced these jeeps are a rare find. The jeep has been garaged and in our family for over 20 years. For those collectors out there this jeep can easily be restored to its original glory. I believe the seats and rollbar and rear bumpre are the only changes made. The jeeps body and engine are in great condition, I drove the jeep this past weekend around the farm.
