Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Looks like it has an extra cross member under the grille.

The seller guessed that this a Willys MA, but he was quickly educated by some folks on Facebook.

(10/23/2014) “Fully restored 1942 Jeep built by Ford. GPW Script Jeep . GPW on a MB frame [ correct ] factory 12 volt. Built March 16, 1942.”

(12/31/2016) Runs, but has been patched and has some incorrect parts.
“1945 ford jeep. It has a war time head on 4 cylinder not sure when block is from drives and stops 4 wheel drive works good runs good. Tub has been patched up has a Willys hood on it . Price is 4000 obo”

Appears to have a GPW crossmember.
“This vintage jeep has been in the family for about 10 years. It ran and drove well before it went into the shop for a new firewall. Was given to step son as a first vehicle, however this is not a good vehicle for a new driver. I can send more pictures or answer additional questions if requested.

Custom Fuel tanks fabricated by Roper Fabrication
Brand new Firewall fabricated by Roper Fabrication
327 SBC Engine freshened up all new gaskets and seals
New heads
New Holly carb (CFM unknown)
PSC Power steering
Lots of parts, just needs someone with the time to wrench them together
Tub is in good shape
Vintage WWII era 1945 (has ammo storage containers and re-enforced floor for machine gun mount)
The bad:
Needs repainting
No wiring, requires all electrical installation
May need new driveshafts, have the originals, but new ones would be better
Has not run in about 3 years”

(10/07/2016) It looks like the tool lids are MB rather than GPW.
“Bought this and did alot to it but alot had already been don. I mainly did the cosmetic restore.. someone else did alot of other mechanical stuff to it.. I bought it from a guy in Washington state. I have Washington title.. easy to swap over..
Get it cheap because I need cash.. these go for upwards of 20k.. I’m selling cheap because I need cash quick.. I just finished my restoring.. it needs to be driven is all.. it has an oil pan leak.. u can see where it’s coming from .. that is all it needs to be just about perfect..
Hurry.. if u want it cheap because I won’t need the cash any longer after the 10th and the price will go up to where it should be after that… ”
