About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Original GPW by Ford w/4 cylinder Willys engine. Mechanically sound, runs great and is the “real deal” WWII Jeep with 7 slot grille and flush headlights.
Starts easily and runs. Includes tow bar. Recent repairs include brakes, shocks, flywheel, battery and more.
Odometer reads 64miles, not believed to be the actual miles.”
“Engine block built by Ford and matches frame and original data plates. The frame is the early MB frame with the Ford ID number stamped into it which proves this is a very early production. This Jeep has been assembled as close to factory standards as possible. The assembly could be classified as, “Built To Museum Quality” standards. The work was performed by Mike’s Military Motor’s in Santa Rosa, CA.
Date of Delivery: 3/25/1942
The accoutrements to this Jeep are:
1) the complete Capstan style winch and Tandem Tow bar assembly
2) period correct WW2 Jeep radio assembly BC 659 all in working order.
3) this Jeep has all of the original style Horse-hair spring seats with all new canvas.”
“I have for sale a 1942 Ford GPW WWII Jeep. The body is extremely rusted. It has an engine that is a later flathead willys engine that runs, no brakes. It has a cj2a steering sector. This is a list of Ford F marked parts: grill, left fender, right fender, radiator, hood hinge, t84 transmission, transfer case, headlight buckets, headlight swing arms, blackout grill lights, bell crank, GPW Glove box data tags, and tool box lids. The data plate, frame and clear title in my name have the same serial numbers. The front and rear axles are GP marked. The wheels are civilian willys. I put a gasket on the thermostat housing and it is seeping. The engine has 641087 –l-w10-a n1-cr-n2 on the block. Serial number on engine is 35234; this is all I could make out. The engine manifold has an ear broken off of it at the carb. Looks like a dj3a manifold. The head has 16h5 on it. The starter is an Autolite number mz 4163 3f and the generator is an Autolite number GDZ 6001E 3F. I am asking $2500 for it.”

“Here is a really solid 1942 Ford GPW Jeep for sale.
It runs and drives great!
I have put over $8,000 in work on it in the past year to get it restored, but I moved to the city and no longer have the time and space to finish the restoration.
The engine was changed out back in the 1950s to the later Willys F head engine. Runs like a top.
Parts that have been rebuilt or replaced in the past year:
Suspension
Carburetor
Brakes
Wheels
Tires
Transmission
Transfer Case
Drive shafts
Wheel bearings
And a few other small things.
It functions really well, but just needs someone to come in and finish it for a really nice show or parade vehicle.
Own a piece of history!
I love this old jeep and don’t want to sell, but I just can’t give it the attention it needs and deserves.
Will be happy to answer any questions. ”
(08/22/2012) This has been modded a bit. Does not run.
“1943 FORD JEEP. NOT RUNNING. HAS A STUDEBAKER 6 CYLINDER OVERHEAD VALVE ENGINE. HAS A PAIR OF CAMARO FRONT SEATS. SOME RUST. LOOKS LIKE IT STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL MILITARY SPARE TIRE. GUY I BOUGHT IT FROM SAID IT WAS A 1943. I DON’T HAVE A TITLE. SO IT MAY BE A 1942, 1944 OR 1945. IT IS NOT THE “FORD SCRIPT” JEEP OF 1941. HAS SOME RUST, SEE PICTURES. UP TO 90 DAYS FREE INSIDE STORAGE FOR BUYER”
“Here may be the best authentic original patina operating military jeep you may ever find! 1943 Ford GPW. Always garaged. Not many chances like this come up to own a piece of ww2 history with matching body and frame numbers. Purchased from the original post military owner. This is not a jeep that you would restore as its value is in the current RUST FREE patinaed ” worn look as if it came from a time warp” condition, parade quality that gets the attention plus safe to drives as it has seat belts and roll bar. Recent complete break overhaul but may need a new head gasket as tends to run warm sometimes. ”
(11/12/2015) That appears to be a VEC CJ-2A body with a filled in tailgate. The rear axles aren’t full floating. Might be a mix of parts. The dogs look in reasonable shape.
“1945 ford jeep, Buick V6 runs good , good tires, needs brakes. trailer for jeep available, ‘
