This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1942 GPW Ford Jeep
Fully restored in 2010, including a full rebuild of the engine. Engine and frame do not have matching serial#, but engine is Ford as well.
Upgrades to SAS 1942 in North Africa as converted by the British Army
– .50 cal M2AC, functional with 12V battery and propylene/Oxygen tanks included. This upgrade was about $5,000 at cost
– One dual and one single replica (resin with metal insert) Vickers K MG
– RARE Bagnol Compass functional replica, sourced in Australia. Worth over $1,000
– SAS uniform, including Wesley hand fun (not functional) and knife
– various British additions – water bottles, back packs, and a number of other hardware
– 5 water Jerry cans, 8 gas jerry cans, one original German WW 2
– All wheels are “combat wheels”. Extra spare wheel
– Has participated in many 4th of July Parades and shows
– VERY IMPORTANT: 12V generator and 12V battery system. The original WW II 6V generator will be provided as well. It is functional, but the 12V system starts the vehicle much easier.

“All metal body with a fiberglass hood. Currently installed 302 V8 (with short 289 waterpump to fit radiator), 3-speed transmission, Dana 20 transfer case. In progress new wiring harness. Full roll-cage fit to the frame. Warn 5k winch.
I have the MB windshield and flip headlights that need restoration.
Needs clutch and brake linkage, drivelines, exhaust, and lube-oil all around.”

Has a few mods.
“1942 ford GPW. Not original but started to put it back that way. New combat rims / tires f marked parts has a willys F head that why the hood is cut. and t-90 trans 11″ brakes new in the spring. Back has been cut for a tailgate. So it’s going to need a rear panel f/r bumpers and welding gas tank lights gpw switches and more. I’ve been looking for parts for the last year. This is from California so little to no rust but does have bondo under the paint. Drives great. May have been a script jeep need to run the numbers. Have almost 7,500 invested. Make me an offer or trade (not going to give it away) could be nice for parades or finish the restoration.
If you have original gpw parts , hood, motor trans, 1919a4 or riffle mounts let me know. May purchase from you to finish this one.”

I had this listed in Wyoming, but the Alaska plates (last pic) combined with the palm trees (first pic) have me thinking it is elsewhere. Paul, you didn’t tell me there are palm trees in Anchorage!?!?

“1943 Ford GPW flat fender, total restoration. New everything, 350 Chevy motor has 100 hours. New wheels, tires, brakes, hubs, and frame. Newly repainted. Rebuilt transmission. Tilt steering, PSC steering box. Sharp looking jeep!”
