UPDATE: Bob reports the vehicle arrived safely in Ohio. He verified that the frame is a Ford and the body is well-built.
He reports, “The thing looks pretty solid and seems to be made out of thick steel and very well made. I just can’t imagine some guy in his garage making this thing, but I could be wrong. Someone updated the running gear with a mustang straight 6, auto trans and the mustang differential. You can clearly see where it was column shift originally, and the frame is definitely a 46 ford.”
This looks good.
“I have always wanted one of these Jeepsters. Now I own one. I went to look at a ’57 Ford Thunderbird and I missed the turn and I saw the Jeepster setting next to the road with a for-sale sign and told my wife we need to go look at it. We found the T-Bird but I could not buy it even for the price just to ruff. We were going to go look at a another car and I did not get an answer then remembered the jeepster which was very close by. When I was looking at it the owner drove up and the rest is history. Had a great drive back. we put the top down and drove home 44 miles most of it on I-5. Ran great. When I opened the hood I was not to sure what to expect, it is all stock with that little 4 cylinder F head Hurricane Jeep engine. This engine produced 75 hp (56 kW; 76 PS) at 4000 rpm (although it redlines at 3200 rpm). 3 speed transmission on the tree with Overdrive. Still 6 volt. Top is very good. He did not have the side curtains. The Jeepster was an automobile originally produced by Willys-Overland Motors from 1948 to 1950. Willys developed the Jeepster to crossover from their “utilitarian” type truck vehicles, to the passenger automobile market. They built 5,836 Jeepsters in 1950. Joe at Old School Garage has taken care of a few small things like getting the gas gauge to work. The Over drive will not engage. Joe got the heater to work. It’s all serviced and safety check and ready to go. Cond. # 3+.”
The seller has some nice cars.

Originally a Shriner’s Jeep, Bill decided since it was already had some drivetrain mods that he would take it further.
He writes, “It now sits on a altered Cherokee chassis with Dana 44 frt and rear with a 4″ lift. It is powered by a Turbo 400 and a 304 AMC. I’ve kept it original looking with a Jeep wheel and the track width is right on. This is one Jeep missed out on produceing. Drove it all last summer and just love it.”

“This car was just completed in our shop as a concourse quality frame off restoration. It has new tires, brakes and wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake lines, shocks, battery, fuel pump, clutch, pressure plate, plugs and wires, main bearings, re-built crank, rod bearings, pistons, rings, cam, valves, guides, valve seats, gaskets and seals. It runs great. The chrome is show quality and complete. The steering wheel is original and restored in our shop. All of the glass is new. The wiring is completely new and color coded to factory specs. The car has been driven 50 miles for testing since completed and everything works correctly. The interior is new including the canvas top and top boot as well as the carpet, side curtains and storage. The gauges have been restored and calibrated. This car was in dry storage for 35 years before we started the restoration. The entire car was stripped to bare metal. The frame was sandblasted and undercoated. The body has 3 coats of primer then 2 coats of base coat and 2 coats of high quality clear coat. The underside of the body is all undercoated. I have about 300 pictures of the entire restoration from start to finish. The engine is the original L-134 and the transmission is the original 3 speed with overdrive. Nothing was compromised during this restoration, right down to every nut and bolt. There are more photos on the website, Or call for more info 904-669-8668 Jm

UPDATE: Bob from Ohio bought this. I can’t wait to hear more about it. Was listed at $1000.
Bob forwarded this to me via the CJ-2A Page. It’s an odd duck. I am thinking it it is a shortened Jeepster on a CJ frame.
“46 Ford Jeepster a one of a kid. Needs a lot of work but has a lot of potential. I bought the car 16 years ago and haven’t had the time or money to get it restored.
