This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I bought this truck last summer hoping to make it my project truck but living in the city and not having a shop I bit off much more than I can chew. Now looking to sell it and get some of my money back on it. I think it would make an awesome restore project but someone that has the time and expertise. The guy I bought it from told me that the motor would turn over and it’s not locked up. I haven’t personally crank it though. It did have oil in it. I started to break down some of the parts planning to sand them and clean them up a bit but I still have everything you see in the pictures except the seats. They were pretty far gone.

Travis spotted this rare Hurst Jeepster Commando model. However, it looks like this one has added gauges in the middle of the dash. (This video shows a stock dash, though the Hurst Badge on the hood appears incorrect). Here are some black and white photos of a HJC.

“1971 Jeep jeepster hurst wagon. #99 out of 103 produced. This vehicle was built on the last-run of Hurst Jeepsters. Rebuilt V6 225 engine, new timing chain, distributor, water pump, gas tank and sender, new tires and brakes, hoses with correct dauntless engine decals. Has rare special sales order plate. New interior, headliner, seat covers and paint. Recent paint and chrome, stripes and freshly painted engine compartment, undercoated body. NOS owner’s and repair manual. 74,125 original miles.”
Has some later model hubcaps that might have been from a pink DJ-3A Surrey.

Now this looks like a barn find, one someone covered and put away. I wouldn’t call it a barn-find price, but looks like it has potential.

“1948 Willys Jeepster. All original barn find, 4cyl ran and drove when parked. 6v system, convertible top, manual tranny. Vehicle is in great shape for its age with very little rot. Would make a great restoration candidate or clean it up, refresh the mechanicals and drive it like it is.”

“here i have a pair of jeepsters in need of some love but plenty to work with. these are very limited production jeeps coming after the willys jeeps, but before amc took them over these are prior to the cj5, the cj7 and are very very rare the yellow one is the 1970 and the blue is the 1967
the first is a 1967 jeepster revival series convertible with the roadster package and a rare automatic transmission. it does not run but has tons of potential $5800 . I have a spare dauntless v6 motor to go with the jeep the motor was fine in this one is has been sitting for about 5 years.
the second of the two is a 1970 jeepster commando recent convertible top has the dauntless v6 that does run and a manual transmission this also comes with a plow setup $ 4700
both of these jeepsters are the kaiser built models not the later amc models the 1970 is actually the last year they were still built by kaiser
