Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I’m selling a very restorable 1949 Willys Overland Jeepster. I bought it with the intention to do a full restoration but I’ve found something else that I want to restore. If you’re into original or Mod this is a good place to start. It’s probably 98% complete. The frame is solid with no issues. The floors and rockers need panels which are available. The drivetrain is complete and intact. Missing the air cleaner. The motor is stuck so the jeep is not currently running. These are the last of the American Phaeton and were only built for 3 years. 1949 is the lowest production year with only 2960 built. Restore it to original or put a small block v8 into it. They are nice looking cars when done. Asking $3900”

Seller lists this project as a 1946, but these weren’t produced until 1948. Maybe some value here?

This has a post front and rear.
“im selling this 1967 classic that just had a rebuild on the top ( new cam,lifters stainless valves)
also it has new brakes all the way around new power booster new brk lines.
mech, this is a sound little jeep all it need is some one to finish off the body work
it had panels put in the body and has a snow plow that comes with it plus the tow bar that i have on it now.
title is clean,v-6 3 spd stick with dana gears front and back true post .”

“this car is a frame off restoration sand blasted and put back tighter. it has original front end steering with a Chevy rear end. ive had the car for 20 some years . it has a chevy 350 engine. 350 turbo trans , . alumin intake , alt., new batt. headers, dual exhaust, all most new tires weld wheels, new engine dress up, the interior is perfect . good top with side snap ons windows and snap cover when top is down.”

It’s rare Jeepster (1/10), but needs work.
“We purchased this Hurst 8/2/2011 from Pittsburgh. A private collector had it in storage in Utah for a while. Since we’ve had it we having done the following
Front seat recovered
Transmission seal replaced
Engine rebuilt
10″ drum conversion
Installed power assist brake system
New shocks
New tires
Front bumper restored
New heater core
79,316 miles on old engine
Vehicle is currently non running. New engine installed ( zero time), transmission and transfer case installed. Linkage needs to be reinstalled. Electric system needs to be reinstalled. Fuel lines & water lines need to be hooked up. Some rust on front floor pans and rocker panels. Tailgate has usual rust for a Jeep. Was a great runner, but was rebuilt due to thrown rod. Had PA inspection in 2012. Has not run since 2013 when engine transmission and transfer case were removed.
We have increasing run out of time for this project , we would love to sell it to someone who would enjoy it more.”

“1950 JEEPSTER which had an amateur restoration 8-10 years ago. The body is solid and the paint is still shinny . A new interior was installed as was a new top. The engine runs fine and most everything else operates.
I haven’t used the Jeepster for years so this Spring I put on new brakes, had the drums turned , flushed the gas tank and installed a new 6 volt battery. It is lots of fun to drive around town and short distances. Good acceleration and easy to maneuver, so taking the grand kids for ice cream on a summer’s evening will be a memory maker.
The speedometer doesn’t work and there are a few scratches that could use a touch up. I’m asking $8500.00 which is a fair price according to Hagerty. ”

Just tuned , starts runs, converted to 12 volt, new exhaust, has newer top, has all the side curtians with clear plastic. paint is very dull but could be wet sanded and buffed, still needs a lil TLC, but worth the effort.”
