Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Due to a passing we are selling this 1962 Willy’s m-170 front line truck. Pretty much all original. No rust. 5 brand new tires. Carb just rebuild. Fresh tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points. Has been converted to 12v. Paint is original and has some scuffs and scraps but still nice.”

“One of 4155 m170 jeep ambulances ever made. Only a handful left in existence. Purrs like a kitten. Very minimal rust. Metro engineering hard top and doors. Clear title. Have lots of parts included to finish. Needs carb rebuilt, brakes installed, and gas tank boiled out due to varnish. Great tires. No seats. $3500.”

(03/28/2015) “This is a restored M170 Willys Ambulance as a troop transport. Comes with an M101 3/4 ton dump trailer as well – been using it in military parades Bandera/Utopia area. Time to move on to something else. Powerful – engine rebuilt, along with tranny, transfer case, wheel seals, etc. New exhaust, everything works except emergency brake. All there just not hooked up. Good canvas, have the doors, new seat pads in the back, no rust to speak of. Very rare, extended wheel base and not the “tip over” typical M38A1. Would make an excellent vehicle to transport hunters to blinds.”
The black CJ-2A might run (top pic). You’ll need a big trailer.

“1954 willys jeep model M170 military ambulance. Drive train is complete. I have extra pieces like top bows and air cleaner. The body is rough but repairable the engine is not running but is free turning. The original 24volt components are still with the jeep. The front fenders do come with the truck but are badly dented. The frame is extremely solid. This jeep does come with a Clean and clear TN title. Great for Father Son project. These jeeps are a rare 101 inch wheel base version. Many parts are available for this jeep including the sheet metal.”
