Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (07/09/2013) This appears solid, but hasn’t been run in a while.
“I bought this jeep over 10 years ago from a man who did a body off partial restoration and never finished. Needs carburetor rebuilt and jeep should run and drive. Have some of the 24 volt electrical system that goes with it. Has the original drive train. Brand new seats. No title. $6,000.00.”

Engine rebuilt perfectly, comfortable seats with 4 seat belts, 4 barrel Holly carburetor w/ holly intake manifold all Mallory ignition/Optimum battery, Custom windshield and new powder coated roll bars, Chrome grill and dual mufflers with aluminum steps, 33″ Super Scampers, Spare tire is brand new, Aluminum wheels, Onboard air compressor and Automatic winch and remote, NEW LED brake lights and New turn signals and front disk brakes, replaced both rear axles in 2012, Dual exhaust, 2 military gas cans mounted on rear.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4900.
Seller listed this as a 1949 CJ-2A. May be a good price.
“I inherited this and I am not an expert on Jeeps. It is 12 volt and runs great. It is too hard on my back to keep but everyone who rides in it loves it. Price is firm , about 36,000 miles on it.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500.
Note the front of the hood bows due (I think) to the radiator hose. Be warned this has no brake lights!
“1952 Jeep Willys. Very good condition. Runs and drives great. Have taken it to a few local shows. Has a 283 chevy small block. 3 speed manual trans. Twin stick transfer case. This is an original military jeep. Has all the badges and on dash and trailer wiring. No rust at all. Body and frame is perfect. Was in storage for 20+ years. Shifts perfect. Brakes are good. Just installed new points and coil. Needs a little tlc. Steering is a little loose. And brake lights Are not hooked up. Headlights work good. Manual and vacuum driven wiper blade that works. Bigger tires that are decent. Comes with a soft top in fair condition with all hard ware and soft doors. Have the trailer connecter for front bumper.”

It’s a solid looking M-38 with very little rust. I know the seller just washed this just before taking these photos. I don’t understand letting water sit in the jockey box underneath the seat and a few other rust prone places shown in the photos?

This has to be the best M38 I have ever owned. Body is rust free and very straight. I have done a few things to this M38 to get it back on the road but without messing with its original condition. The following have been done for drivability and safety. 1. New brake shoes and wheel cylinders. 2. New rubber and S-shaped metal brake lines. 4. NOS master cylinder 5. New fuel sending unit (correct M38 one). 6. Complete wash of vehicle to remove about 1/2” of dust and other stuff that had accumulated on the M38 over the years of being in storage.
