It’s a project.

“This is a willys jeep m38 on a cj5 frame that has been blasted, powdercoated, strapped etc. It has a dana 30 front with disc brakes and a 44 rear with 19 slpine axles. It has a mercruiser 140 hp with zero miles. The t90 and 18 have both been rebuilt. The tub is an mdjuan in good shape and zero rust. It has 33” tires on new powdercoated black wheels. Saginaw power steering with tilt column. Has honda bucket seats. I have a title. 1500 cash no offers and please look at a map before you call 509-261-0306 pat”

I never did find the gas filler for this.  Maybe it is in the rear passenger side?

UPDATE:  **SOLD** Was $950.

This runs and drives.  It also has a m-38 body.

“Hey there , I’m selling my CJ-2A Project Jeep that i’m probably never going to get around to doing. It’s a ’46 , pretty much all original running gear (Flat head 4cyl., T90, model 18, etc.) It runs and drives but definately needs some work. It has been converted to 12Volt so it turns over nicely but it does need to have a basic ignition switch installed and lights , etc. The body isn’t bad for an old Willys, it does have it’s share of small dings and dents along with the standard issue Bondo but not much rust at all so it’s fairly solid. 4X4 works good and it does have some really decent old style 7.00 x 16 traction tires on it. I have a clear Washington title for it. Asking $950.00 Please call , email or text if you have any questions. ”

(07/03/2012) This looks like a good restoration candidate.

“WILLYS 1952 M-38 JEEP

The jeep has a strong engine, needs carb rebuild

Has Ramsey PTO winch on the front

The electrical has been changed to 12 volt

Very solid body, frame, floorboards, floor support channels

No rust! just on surface!

This Jeep is for restoration, I would like to see this go to someone that would put it back to original M-38 specs. My intention was just that when I purchased it but do not have the time now.

Please ask any questions before bidding on it, I will be happy to answer the best I can. If you are interested I would suggest come and see the M-38 in person. I will be happy to show you the Jeep. It is located in Northern California area.”

UPDATE:  This sold.  The new owner is looking for parts.

This has a CJ-2A engine.  It also has an CJ-3A windshield.  There is some rust in the jockey box floor.  There are no data plates, so the title number matches nothing.

(08/28/2012) This looks good.  It doesn’t have the original block.

“1951 M38; while NOT restored this jeep is very solid; its been converted to 12 volt; has new steel tub; starts easy and runs well. Some parts such as seats not authentic. More photos available. Selling to buy a different military vehicle and hope it goes to a good home! $6,900. ”
