This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This appears to have a replacement body, as it’s a mix of M-38 and MB styles. Also, it shouldn’t have full-floaters (though I think there are a useful add).

“Selling my M38 G-740 Korean War jeep. Great candidate for restoration or drive as is. T-90 3 speed transmission hi-lo and 4×4 in and out. Clean title in my name ready to transfer. These jeeps are better than any side by side UTV hands down. New tires and new “correct exhaust”. The jeep could use brake and steering adjustments. Lights aren’t hooked up. It has all the data plate minus one. Has the data plate behind the passenger seat too. Runs strong, will do 55+ mph. Looking for Ford GPW or parts.”

(04/22/2021) The body of the M-38 might be a replacement body. It’s got driver-side indents, a sold back, and drain holes.
“I have two jeep willys for sale. Both have the original running gear still intact. The first is a 1952 with a clean texas title. It runs but the battery and cables aren’t the greatest so it’s easier to roll start it right now. The tires are good for pasture use but not for the road. It’s a pretty good jeep for a restoration if you’re looking for one to love on. The brakes need an overhaul and the fuel tank needs attention, we use an external tank on it. The second one does not have a title and I’m not sure what year it is. It’s whole but needs way more love or would be good for parts and such to help with fixing up the first. It ran years ago when we parked it but it would need alot of work. I’d like to sell both together but I’m open to offers”

“Willys M38 military Jeep it needs alot of work still, however it has new leaf springs, shocks, brake lines and a master cylinder and a remanufactured carter carb. I have the hood and rear tailgate as well. It has a 1957/58 studabaker champion 185 6 cylinder engine and ran before I started working on it. I am not positive of the value. I have $1500 in parts alone. She is a project military jeep. Located in Saint Anthony, Idaho.”
