Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Up for sale is an authentic 1953 M38A1 military jeep. These jeeps are the models for the civilian CJ5 model but are much more robust. Brakes, 4cyl stock engine and basic lights (headlights, tailights and brake lights) all work. Body in very good shape with no rust. Steering is unusually tight for age as it must not have been driven much. Engine runs smoothly with no major issues (although it takes a while to warm up sometimes). 4×4 works perfectly. Overall functional m38a1 jeep in good shape.”
