Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have almost 2 complete m38a1 jeeps. Tons of extras. Spare tire carriers pintle hitches 2 fuel tanks. Axles fenders hoods and lots of military parts. I have one that runs If u work on it. Window frames a set of glass for wind sheild and stuff i cant remember. I wld like to get 2800 for all of it. All have rust and need restored. One has original paint. One thats almost complete is a m38a1c which carried the recoiless rifle. I have one title and paperwork for the c model. The titles can b found and bought for these old jeeps. Shoot me a offer”

UPDATE: **SOLD**
“Selling an October 1953 M38A1 in solid condition / excellent restoration possibilities. 24-volts, comes with new batteries, new gaskets, hoses, and a bunch of parts, although most of those parts were the original ones that were taken off when newer ones were installed. There are a couple small spots on the passenger side that have old repairs that could use a skim of filler to refresh them (see photo below, beneath the battery compartment and just below slave receptacle dish), but sheet metal is in great condition and no panels need replacement or major repairs. The serial number is right at the change-over from Gen 1 to Gen 2. This jeep has the hinged grill and thumb screw battery cover so it’s one of the last of the first-generation M38A1s. Awesome Korean War / Vietnam piece of military history.”

“All Original numbers matching Willys Jeep. “F” head engine fording system. 24v system that has just been replaced to keep it period correct. This Jeep is a true find. Zero rust. I just completed a restoration of it. All systems have been gone through and all the records to prove it. It runs perfectly. I included some pictures to show restoration. This Jeep was found in Phoenix in 2000.
Recent work includes:
New wiring harness
Installed electric fuel pump to avoid vapor lock
New factory exhaust system
Full paint, including stencils
No detail was overlooked
Two new batteries
This thing is ready for a parade or just drive around with a smile and have people give you a thumbs up.
