Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This has not title. It is listed as a 1952 (probably just a guess), but more likely mid 1953 or later.

Potter Valley location, will demo in mountains . all work completed by local shop, you can contact.”

“I have a 1953 Willys M38A1 Military Jeep. It is complete and registered in California. I have the pink slip and you can drive it away. Brakes have been redone and a new high performance starter has been added. The 1953 Military Jeep has a few unique features including a tilting radiator support and a battery box with 8 thumb screws. A few safety features added including removable roll cage and seat belts. This jeep is mostly original condition and is a very fun vehicle. It was converted to 12 volt system. Don’t be fooled by people who claim they have a military jeep and it’s just a CJ with green paint. Has a few oil leaks but runs well. I am selling it for $5400 obo.”

Nice looking M-38A1.
“1952 Model, first year for the curved front fenders. Serial #MD18104, 21,680 original miles, 24 volt system, black out lights work. This Jeep is in very good condition. I have original four tires and gas can, all stamped 1952. It now has new Firestone military tires and spare. Very dependable. Canvas top and seat covers in very good condition. You want a piece of military history, this is it!”

I purchased this jeep in SoCal last year and brought it to NJ when I moved here. This willys is clean and daily driver material. In the past year I have:
Rebuilt carburetor
new fuel pump, new fuel lines & filters. Cleaned out gas tank
New water pump & thermostat
Full tune up
New lightweight land cruiser starter
New headlight switch
Fresh fluids transmission & transfer case
This is currently on display at the National United States Armed Forces Museum.
