There’s an interesting article about Vic Hickey’s supercharged flat fender in the February 1955 issue of Car Craft Magazine. The cover shows a great color photo of the supercharger. Using a GMC Supercharger, the Vic made a variety of changes to deal with issues related to the installation.
Magazine Research Archives
January 1954 Imagination Magazine on eBay
Having some alien spaceship blasting an old jeep indicates some type of perverse imagination.
Slat Grille By Cable in May 5, 1942, Life Magazine
I bought a cheap copy of the May 5, 1942, issue of Life Magazine off ebay the other day. In it I found these photos on page 8-11. It was a failed effort to slide a jeep across a river by cable.
Before I show a the hanging jeep, I wanted to share the photo below that shows some jeeps aboard a vessel of some sort.
Here’s the jeep by cable from pages 8-11. You can view the magazine on Google.
1958 Saturday Evening Post Jeep on Cover on eBay
Only the cover is being sold. Apparently, a flat tire on the jeep has stalled a parade. Seems an odd cover?
“COVER ONLY. Bottom right corner damage; scuff at mailing label. Border creases.”
Ad for Hickey 4×4 in Four Wheeler Magazine
I ran across this unusual ad for the complete setup for an unusual 4×4 in the February 1964 issue of Four Wheeler Magazine. The prototypes and parts were being sold by Vic Hickey (or he was acting as an agent). Anyone have more information on this? It appears to be a four wheel drive dune buggy.
Jan 1944 Travel Trailer Article about Post War Camping on eBay
This magazine apparently has an article about post war jeep camping. I haven’t seen the article, but would like a copy if anyone has the magazine.

When Utility Delivery Met Traveller by Bill Norris
Dan pointed out that the October 2103 issue of Vintage Truck Magazine has a great looking article about the Traveller by Bill Norris. I’m going to get a copy of that magazine right away!
You can read it online here: http://www.vintagetruckmagazine.com/current/index.html

1961 Article about the Ramirez Vehicles on eBay
I don’t know anything about these jeep-like Ramirez vehicles.
“original magazine article , 11.5 x 15 , Spanish text , has a horizontal fold , this article continues onto another page which is not present. Produced by Trailers De Monterrey , Mexico City , Mexico. This item is AutoLit Part #wg7786-IRPJFL.”
1956 Article about the Super Drake on eBay
While the concept of the Super Drake was tested, I don’t believe it ever achieved production (at least I couldn’t find anything about it).
“An Original 1956 ONE-Page pictorial that was removed from a vintage Magazine. Perfect size to mat and frame, it measures 6½ x 9¼ inches.
Article Excerpt: “With eight wheels, all of them powered, the Army’s latest amphibious vehicle, the Drake, can outride the heaviest surf.”
Shown on bottom of page is the first 2 1/2-ton Duck, the 4-ton Superduck and the Drake.”
