About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(07/21/2015) Listed as a 1947, this looks more like an MB or GPW.
“1947 Willys flat fender jeep. Clear blue Texas title. Needs a gas tank, battery, and brake job. Will make a good ranch ride with just a little effort. Bring a battery and a gas tank and we can crank it up. Has a tow bar -tows good down the road. It’s 68 yrs old but has plenty of life left in her. $1850 obo. No trades, shipping, b-s, etc.”
“This Willys is a true survivor. The id number is a MB number, but is considered a 1947 by the DMV. The tub is a MB. The driver side has been smoothed over with bondo at some point, but the ribs for the tools can be seen on the inside. The window is post war as well as the M38 grille. The jeep will need to be seen. It needs tlc for sure but is a driver.
I have the window rubber, just no glass.
The engine is what I can best figure is a 1953 F-Head Hurricane engine. It has the generator, but is wound to a 12v system. It has Model A tail lights. It comes with a complete Willys-Overland Arctic Cover or hard top. They fit MB’s as well as M38’s.
The tires are too big, so I pulled off the rear, but the front still cause it to rumble a bit. When it sells I will be taking off the rear wheels and putting back on the big ones. You will need to put new rubber on unless you don’t mind the rumble and wobble they cause. ”
“This is mostly original materials and parts. It hasn’t run in 10 years but it started right up when I drove it into my barn. Needs some brake work and some alternator work, the ignition system runs the battery down in a few days otherwise.
The transmission was changed out but I do have the original one. ”
“1945 Willys Jeep. Metal bodied. Dodge 360 Motor with 4 Barrel Carburetor. Dodge A-883 4 speed Manual Transmission. T-18 Transfer Case. Dana 44 rear end and Dana 25 front end. Power steering front disc brakes. 33 x 11.5 with 90% left. Rear seat has been re-postured. Front bucket racing seats. Comes with full top, extra hood, tires and wheels.”
(07/06/2015) There are several reasons this shouldn’t sell for $20k besides the incorrect engine.
“With great sadness I am selling my 90% restored World War II Ford GPW/MB. She has been sitting in a carport for the better part of 5 years and needs to find a good home to hit the parade circuit again. The body is all original as is the two piece windshield. She has the original manufacturing plates on the passenger side, black-out lighting, all gauges, new gas tank, the original 6volt electrical system, original military type tires, and fully restored engine. A note about the engine: the engine came off a 1938 Willys Sedan Coupe! That is the only reason this parade/museum piece is not going for 20k. The restored engine has less than 500 miles on it as does the fully restored drivetrain to include the drum drivehaft brake.”
This seems to be a mix of parts, but appears to be mostly MB.

It needs tlc for sure but is a driver. I just ordered a new Holley 1904 carb which set me back $350. The one on now runs, but leaks a little.
I have the window rubber, just no glass. I also have the wood stops for the hood as well as the brackets for the window hinge. No glass.

“This 1942 MB is a good daily driver that is perfect for your next parade. It is not a 100% stock MB, but it is a solid vehicle you can use as is or take your time restoring back to original. Here are some specs on the Jeep:
