Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. That lead me on a trek to find any other shore patrol jeep with a color scheme that was NOT a light blue color. A quick google search of the term “Shore Patrol Jeeps” reveals an endless slew of light blue Jeeps evoking, in my mind, a Navy theme. However, despite my searches, I couldn’t locate anything other than Navy themed or Army Green Shore Patrol Jeeps.
So, to the upper right is the best snapshot I could get of the Waikiki Shore Patrol Jeep, followed by some other Shore Patrols I found around the web.

(04/29/2010) I’m a little surprised the seller doesn’t mention this is a Slat Grille. This doesn’t have the in-dash jockey box.

A reader named John is selling this nicely restored MB.
“1945 Willys 1/4T reconnaissance truck, JEEP, delivered to the military 3-7-45 and recently completed a tub-off restoration. All restoration work correct to original specs with primarilly original NOS parts and professional rebuilds of the motor, drivetrain, axles, diffs, tranny and TC. Era correct top quality canvas and rubber throughout and every detail of the restoration process was documented in scores of digital pics. Over $14000 in parts and services alone with receipts available. This Willys is a classic example of a combat jeep in the ETO circa. early ’45. ”

This seems to be a blend of MB and CJ-2A parts.

Also included is a NEW Bimini top as well. Nice Paint. No Dents. Awesome Aliminum Wheels with super Meaty Mud tires. Inside: Recarro Seats. Harness Seat belts. Don’t want to sell but my boy needs his bills paid.”
