This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (04/29/2010) I’m a little surprised the seller doesn’t mention this is a Slat Grille. This doesn’t have the in-dash jockey box.

A reader named John is selling this nicely restored MB.
“1945 Willys 1/4T reconnaissance truck, JEEP, delivered to the military 3-7-45 and recently completed a tub-off restoration. All restoration work correct to original specs with primarilly original NOS parts and professional rebuilds of the motor, drivetrain, axles, diffs, tranny and TC. Era correct top quality canvas and rubber throughout and every detail of the restoration process was documented in scores of digital pics. Over $14000 in parts and services alone with receipts available. This Willys is a classic example of a combat jeep in the ETO circa. early ’45. ”

“has rebuilt willys flat head inline 4cyl, new wheel bearings, brake cylinders, brakes. has lots of potential, every thing else is pretty much original. only use once a year for deer hunting. please reply to posting.”
This seems to be a blend of MB and CJ-2A parts.

(05/08/2010) “This is a sweet Ride! Running Gear: Rebuilt 350 with dual exhaust and a turbo 400 Transmission Complete with Dana Rear End. Outside: New Complete top! Also included is a NEW Bimini top as well. Nice Paint. No Dents. Awesome Aliminum Wheels with super Meaty Mud tires. Inside: Recarro Seats. Harness Seat belts. Don’t want to sell but my boy needs his bills paid.”

The body doesn’t look too bad, but the hood appears tweaked.
