Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1942 WWII Military Willys MB Jeep. Mostly original and has been stored inside for many years. It runs, drives, brakes, and most everything works on it. I just drove it on the road last weekend. It has most of the original parts still with it (from what I can tell). Engine, driveline, and chassis are all original also. Converted to 12 volt and all lights work. Straight sheet metal and very little rust. Also comes with a couple of fabric doors and 2 Danbury Mint die-cast models. Clean title. $12,500 OBO.”

“Willy’s mb with a wide variety of cj parts that make it one of a kind. Current issues are coolent, spark and brakes. This is a project vehicle that needs work in order to run. The owner before me welded the spider gears in the rear axle which makes it un roadworthy until they are replaced. Has a Jeep dauntless odd fire v6 paired with an original Willy’s 3 speed. Has best top seats, bikini top and full soft cab. Superwinch locking hubs in the front.”
It’s a project. It appears to have a Ford frame, but it has MB tool box lids.

It’s a combination of MB and CJ-2A and other parts, but it is a budget friendier flat fender option.

The body is a reproduction and there are reproduction and later Willys era parts but it is still a very correct looking, rust free example and is in amazing condition and ready to enjoy. It has had a very long term elderly owner, kept in temperature controlled storage and being sold to settle an estate. Also included are WW2 accessories including helmets, a 2 way radio, gas mask and more. This Jeep is about as nice as you will find. More photos are available upon request. $18,500 buys it. “This 1944 Willys MB is finished in drab green with white military-style accents over green canvas upholstery and is powered by a 134ci inline-four paired with a three-speed manual gearbox and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes 16″ body-color wheels, a folding windshield, a jerry can, manually locking front hubs, and a radio receiver and transmitter unit linked with a body-mounted antenna. The truck reportedly underwent a refurbishment under previous ownership, and the seller acquired it in 2021. This Willys MB is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.”
