Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. A photo in the 1947 issue of Chicago Tribune shows the Brits must have gotten bored, so they started jumping jeeps with motorcycles.

I found a 1961 article in the Chicago Tribune announcing the Willys Convertible Jeep. In actuality, it’s an announcement of the Tuxedo Park series of CJ-5. Interesting that it was positioned as a convertible.
