Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The August 03, 1942, issue of Life Magazine has an article about Transport Planes. The article includes photos of some GPWs. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to be wedged in there next to the jeep during a bumpy flight!

Roberto posted this interesting photo on Facebook that he found on ImageShack. Someone suggested this was a test photo from Aberdeen, but I haven’t seen any verification for it. The image looks like it might be from a video. Anyone recognize it?

How about this cool photo.
“This 8″ x 10″ B&W Glossy Photo of the Edgcomb Steel Jeep Truck was taken in Philadelphia in 1962. The photo remains in good condition, exhibiting only light signs of vintage wear (faint crease marks, etc.).”

Roberto spotted this collection of photos taken during/after the WWII. The photos are worth combing through. There are a few, but not many, jeep photos.

Gary shot this photo of his jeep and boat. He says it really helps to have the jeep for putting the boat into tight, uneven locations on small lakes, like the one below at Binnewater Lake in Rosendale, NY. Looks like a beautiful day for sailing.
