Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The owner of this slide from Flickr thinks it might be a photograph of a young Les Schwab. I have his biography, which was very interesting, but it is packed in a box somewhere. This was one of a pile of slides the seller bought on eBay.

How about this unusual rig. It looks like it is part woody and part MB. There was no caption included.
This is a print from a 35mm slide, but you are purchasing only the print and not the slide.
“Beautiful new professional print (6″ X 4″) from an old 35mm slide of a 1956 Willys Jeep pickup being used at the Douglas County Fire Department parked in the drive way of the fire house (KODACHROME TRANSPARENCY PROCESSED BY Kodak, date imprinted APR 60). Beautiful looking JEEP, Fire Engine Red, loaded with equipment. No idea where the photo was taken. If anyone can help I’d sure appreciate it. Nothing written on the slide. Much better than scan, crisp and clear. Any glare or distortion is from my digital camera. The ruler does not show up on the print.”

This is a neat old photograph. The first two vehicles are slat grille MBs.
“This is a gloss finish 8″ x 10″ black and white photograph of a WWII Era military convoy traveling on a cleared road between majestic snow covered fir trees. It would be nice to know their destination. Does it look cold! There are no markings on the back of this picture, but it is pristine and very professional. I am selling numerous pictures taken during the WWII era which are of great historical interest and need to be preserved. Many are from Kashmir and other places in the Far East where the previous owner was stationed. The owner was a photographer for the military.”

Steve forwarded this photo of a Mighty Mite at the Chicago Auto Show yesterday.
Coincidently, yesterday Ann’s mother saved part of an episode of Pawn Stars for me to view (Episode called PONY UP from December 2011), which included a man trying to sell a Mighty Mite to the Pawn Stars guys for $22,000. They offered $13,000 (based on their expert’s opinion). Unfortunately, I can’t find a free way to view that episode.

I ran across this photo of a Seep pulling a trailer from the water at the Army’s website. The vehicle is pretty deep in teh mud. I wonder if it made it out of that.
