Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “For sale is a 1972 Toyota Landcruiser. Me and my dad picked this up as a winter project but we’re realizing we just don’t have the bandwidth to tackle a project of this magnitude at this point in time.
It’s a 3.9 liter inline 6 motor with a 3 on-the-tree manual transmission. Clean Mass title ready to be signed over.
The motor turns over and wants to fire up but it doesn’t have spark. We’ve bought new points, a new coil, and a new condenser ready to be installed which should solve the spark issue. Comes with vinyl doors, diamond plate tailgate, and bench seat.
Any part you could need for this is readily available online. Cruiser Solutions up in New Hampshire can do any motor or body work needed.”

“1968 Land Rover Santana – Imported from Paraguay (South America). Left Hand Drive, Diesel, Manual Transmission. Solid project for a rugged daily or full high end restoration and custom project. Overlander. Camping. Paint is original brown under the blue wrap. Was used as a rural ambulance in Paraguay. Comes with the Land Rover branded winch in unknown condition but that has to rare? Series III (series 3) 109 pre Defender 110 model but similar look. Very cool rare vehicle. 5 door. Has seats for 10. Has the safari roof with vents under it. This is a legally imported Land Rover from Paraguay. The title is still foreign but I will help the new owner transfer the title to US…I just didn’t do it due to having brought in 6 cars at once and no need to do everything 2x since I’m not keeping it. I WILL HELP YOU GET THE TITLE IN YOUR STATE! Engine and drivetrain are complete but in unknown operational condition other than they turn freely.”
“This is a project vehicle! It is a 1985 Jeep CJ-10. Very rare Jeep, it was originally used as an aircraft tug by the Airforce. I have tried to turn it into overland/ rock crawler Jeep. Originally had the Nissan SD33 diesel in it, but was swapped for a Chevy In-line 7 292. Bored .030 over, big block valve train, head studs, Clifford intake, self made turbo charger kit. Automatic transmission to dual transfer cases. I believe a NP203 and NP205. 14bolt and Dana 44 8-lug conversion. Gear ratios unknown. The fenders were made to fit my old 38’s. The wheels on it are just cheap wheels I got to roll it around while I worked on it. 38’s are not for sale. This is a project vehicle and needs some work.”
Appears solid. It runs and drives, but could use brake work.
“Up for sale is one of the more rare military Jeeps. The last of the ‘Real Steel’ CJ’s, the CJ10a. Built as one of two models of the CJ10, this one was made for the US Air Force as a flightline tow tractor, or tug. There were about 2300 or so built, thus the rarity.
All steel body including the removable hardtop. The rear body is 3/16 and 1/4 inch plate steel as part of the traction weight. Additional traction weight is a 4 1/2 thick slab of steel in a pocket on the frame above the rear axle. Curb weight is around 5500 pounds.

Bill sent this link for a reasonably priced FJ-40. I don’t know how accurate the restoration is so far, but based on other prices I’ve seen, this seems to be a pretty reasonable one.
This is a project I took on 2 years ago. I have gotten it to yard drive but it still needs more work. I fell into a deal with a gorgeous 1965 T-Bird and I just haven’t had the bandwidth to dedicate myself to the Land Cruiser.
Quick History: This vehicle was on the road until 2012, from that point on it sat in a gentleman’s driveway until 2018 when I bought it off him. He had owned it since 1985 and done some adventures up in Canada with it. He had even installed an auxiliary fuel tank to get extended range. During his ownership he had the engine rebuilt TOP and BOTTOM, the engine is NICE.
Since I bought it, I worked initially on getting it running. I replaced the original carburetor and it ran well. The cooling system and heater hoses were in terrible shape and I replaced them all with heavy duty clamps.
Unfortunately, at one point I switched the fuel source to the aux tank and it seemed to clog the fuel delivery. Long story short, there is an issue getting fuel to the carb, although I replaced the fuel pump, and filter.
What the vehicle still needs:
There is rust on the steel exterior body panels, especially the windshield frame and the bib. But the tub is aluminum and in fine shape. The fenders are fiberglass and doing great! The frame has rust. To make it off-road worthy you should reinforce several spots.
You will need to replace the exhaust system.
Tires hold air really well and have good tread, but are older.
Then you need to deal with the fuel problem. I would recommend a new fuel tank and new fuel hoses. A new mechanical fuel pump (if you need it, I put in a new one) is not expensive).
Ideally I would like to sell the seats separately to get some of my investment back, but I am flexible. So if you def want the seats, we can talk.

“These are very rare, you see all the rest of the Toyotas advertised for sale but rarely an FJ55! 1972 Toyota FJ55 has the original F1 inline 6 motor and original 3 speed transmission and is running and driving well. (these don’t drive the greatest anyway! LOL) Nice older original colors paint job with hardly a nick or scratch in the entire truck if any! Has pretty good shine too, looks original. It was stored mostly after it was painted and the gentleman was working on it.
Odometer reads 22k mi so probably 122k. Pretty original interior in pretty good shape. Original tags are pictured clearly. Truck has most of it’s original parts if not all. The lights work, even the reverse lights. Gauges do not work and I can’t get the back window to work so that will need repair, the back panel comes off with 6 screws or so and everything is right there to repair it. Very little rust underneath but there is a couple of small spots.”
