This vehicle cracked me up. It was street legal in 1992. The title is even current.

Dan spotted this 2WD Wagoneer. It doesn’t run, but looks to have potential.

“Does not run. On non op. I have the title in my name. Original black and yellow plate and Hayward Jeep liscense plate frames. Has not ran since the mid 80’s. Only rust through in bottom on rear quarters where there was some burlap sacks jammed down in there. This rig is a rare 2 wheel drive model. Currently sitting on jeepster wheels but the original wheels and hub caps come with it.”

“1970 KID 8×8. These has a very interesting military history that few know about..In a nut shell The KID was built by Kinetics International Division witch was LTV Aerospace.. Its original design was called the MAVC that later become KID 8×8.. The mule as you know was active in the military but the Kid 8×8 was a machine that was built for a platoon vehicle.. The mule was used on the base and the Kid was to follow the platoons and carry extra food, bedding, ammo and could also carry the wounded back in from the field.. the Kid 8×8 started in 1970 as a 1 seat machine for platoon use but our government had them change it to a 2 seat model with 3 point and PTO and was giving them to Asia framers to replace the water buffalos in the rice fields then Vietnam was coming to an end and they stopped sending them to Asia so LTV went after the military needs for a platoon vehicle again but our government said there’s no need because the war is over so LTV sold out inventory and closed the KID 8×8 factory.. No Kid 8×8’s seen military action because they was sent to the rice fields..

The Kid 8×8 was powered by a 4 cylinder Wisconson 30hp gas or a 4 cylinder Perkins 50hp diesel. this one is the gas model.. Its a total Hyd drive system just like the skid steers out today.. This Kid runs and works like it should with new parts in the motor and new tires and rims.. They originaly floated like a boat but i would say this one has leaks in it somewhere to use it as a boat.. The Kid 8×8 is an all metel body machine weighing around 3000lb for a base model..

I would like to find a Military Mule but i would look at other trades as this machine is for sell localy so auction can end at any time….

I have parts and options for these machines like Tracks, Dozer blades {not snow plows but they will push snow}, fender flairs, 3 point, cab options, sideboards, duel tire kits, and much much more.. Check the Kid8x8 web site for ideas.”

“1967 Snow Trac ST-4 #000883 for sale 1968 Snow-Trac, AB Westerasmskiner of Sweden built 2,220 Snow Trac machines between the years 1957 and 1980. – These machines were primarily sold in Northern European countries to be used on snow-covered terrain. – Ski resorts also employed these machines to groom trails. While not built to be a military vehicle, some European Armies drafted Snow Tracs into service. – This particular Snow Trac was purchased in 1997 from a Snowcat dealer in Idaho and was shipped to Duck Creek Utah where it is located today. The machine is pretty much completly stock other than I installed a fuel guage and had the exhaust extended to the rear and up the back of the machine. The stock exit piont for the exhaust was about mid way along the right side but in deep snow created a situtation, in some cases, where exhaust fumes got in the cab. This relocation of the exit point ellimanates this possibility. The Snow Trac enjoyed momentary Hollywood fame in the 1980 movie, The Shining, starring Jack Nicholson and Shelly Duvall. You might remember Ms. Duvall’s daring escape in the Snow Trac at the conclusion of the movie. The Snow Trac Stats: Powered by an air cooled 4-cylinder Volkswagen engine and 4-speed transmission, Variator Steering arrangement – Top speed: close to 20 miles-per-hour, Weight: 3,307 lbs, Frame: welded steel Body: aluminum fenders and side storage, Seating for 6 adults plus driver, Low center of gravity for ease of control on steep slopes.
